Proportions and the classic gin tonic recipe

This legendary cocktail is served in all bars of the world. For several centuries, its taste and recipe have been perfected. For the first time, British soldiers began to mix gin and tonic in the XNUMXth century, who fought in India. So they were saved from malaria and scurvy. We can afford to drink this cocktail just for the sake of pleasure. I will show you how to make gin and tonic at home.

For cooking, I advise you to use only the best brands of gin, for example, Beefeater Crown Jewel or Bombay Sapphire, which have a pronounced aroma of juniper. Tonic must also be of high quality. You can use bottled “Schweppes”, “Evervess”, “Canada Dry” and others.

Composition and proportions of gin tonic

Ingredients:

  • London dry gin (London Dry Gin) – 50 ml;
  • tonic – 100 ml;
  • lime – 1-2 slices;
  • ice cubes – 100 grams.

The proportions depend on how strong the cocktail you want to get. My favorite is the 1:2 ratio (one part gin to two parts tonic).

Attention! Gin and tonic in cans and bottles appeared on sale. But this drink has nothing to do with a real cocktail. Instead of natural ingredients, it uses alcohol, preservatives and synthetic flavors that are harmful to health.
