Prontosan – action
Prontosan is a liquid (aerosol) substance that promotes healing. The preparation has cleansing and disinfecting properties. Thanks to this, it prevents the formation of scars and the unpleasant smell of the wound.
It contributes to the creation of a protective film, thanks to which it prevents antibiotic-resistant bacteria from entering the wound, and also reduces pain.

Prontosan – indications
The preparation is used to rinse and clean wounds and cuts, bites, cracks and abrasions. In addition, it moisturizes the diseased area, thus preventing it from drying out too quickly and thus creating very visible scars.
Used on a dressing, it will prevent the dressing from drying out, which may cause discomfort to the wounded. It is also used for burns.

Prontosan – contraindications
Allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients is a contraindication to the use of the preparation.
In addition, the drug interacts with anionic tensides, so you should not combine the use of Prontosan with drugs containing this substance. It should not be used orally. The preparation is intended for external use only.
After opening, it is suitable for use for 8 weeks. After this time, the packaging should be disposed of in specially designed containers. If any medicine remains in the package, it should be returned to the pharmacy for disposal.
Prontosan – directions for use
The drug is applied to a dressing and then to washed and dried skin. After soaking the compress with the preparation, leave it for about 10-15 minutes for the biofilm to be removed.
In order to make changing the dressing more pleasant, it can be heated to 37,5 degrees Celsius. It is worth doing this because the wound is more sensitive to temperature than a healthy body. In addition, the purification and microbicidal process will be more effective.
The wound should be gently rubbed with a soaked dressing.
Prontosan – composition
The composition of the preparation includes:
- Purified Water,
- surfactant betaine,
- 0,1% polyaminopropyl biguanide (polyhexanidine).

The drug should be kept out of the reach of children at room temperature. If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of Prontosan immediately and consult a physician or pharmacist.
There are no contraindications for the use of the drug during pregnancy. The preparation does not affect consciousness, so after using it, you can drive vehicles. The drug is intended for children and adults.
