ACTION

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, propionic acid derivative

INDICATIONS AND DOSAGE

Post-traumatic pain in muscles and joints. Tendinitis. Adults. Apply a small amount of the gel on the skin within the painful area and massage for a few minutes; use 2–3 × / d. Daily dose of 15 g (about 28 cm of ointment). Treatment should not exceed 7 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (also in the form of rhinitis, urticaria or asthma). Do not use on damaged or diseased skin. History of skin allergy to ketoprofen, thiaprofenic acid, phenobarbital, sunscreen or perfume. Do not use in children up to the age of 15. Do not use in pregnancy from the 6th month of age.

WARNINGS

Do not use for more than 7 days without a doctor’s recommendation. Do not use on large surfaces. Follow the recommended doses. Treatment should be discontinued in the event of local skin lesions. Do not use on mucous membranes. Do not use under occlusive dressings. Exercise caution in people with heart failure, renal or hepatic dysfunction, with a history of epilepsy (the preparation contains a terpene derivative – lavender oil). Use protective gloves during long-term massage into the skin. For 2 weeks after the end of treatment, avoid exposure of the skin to the sun’s rays (including solarium). It is not recommended for pregnant women. Use from the 6th month of pregnancy is contraindicated. Pregnant women up to the 5th month may use the preparation only after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary. The preparation should not be used during breastfeeding.

INTERACTIONS

The topical preparation is only slightly absorbed into the blood (about 5%); interactions with other drugs are unlikely and have not been described.

SIDE EFFECTS

The following may occur: local skin reactions (erythema, rash, itching). Rare: photosensitivity, dermatitis vesicular, urticaria. An asthma attack may occur in people allergic to acetylsalicylic acid. Very rarely, aggravation of pre-existing renal failure.
