– Doubts are raised by politicians because they do not know and do not orientate themselves. We are in a time of a huge struggle between giants, you have to be careful in your assessments – said prof. Wojciech Maksymowicz, neurosurgeon, MP from the Covenant and former Minister of Health, who was today a guest of Polsat News.
Prof. Maksymowicz referred to the controversial recommendation to limit or suspend scheduled treatments, the effectiveness of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and the tightening of epidemic restrictions in the next three provinces.
The professor did not leave the operating room, he performed scheduled procedures, because “another change of dates could kill the patients”. And the announcement of the National Health Fund from last Monday about “limitation to the necessary minimum or temporary suspension of the provision of scheduled services” is treated as a recommendation, not an order.
- Where were vaccinations with AstraZeneka stopped? [LIST OF COUNTRIES]
– I am a bit disgusted with the fact that it is recommended by the health fund, the payer. This is not a situation supervisor, it should be done through the minister of health – he said.
When asked about the emotions evoked by the order of vaccinations established by the ministry – academic teachers are to be vaccinated against the elderly and the sick – he defended the state’s health policy.
– There are many areas that could be done more prudently, but a lot has been done quite sensibly. I think that on the scale of chaos that occurs in the world, we are in a calmer position – he said.
However, professor Maksymowicz has no doubts about the effectiveness of vaccinations with AstraZeneca. As an argument, he gave the positive results of the research of 4 million people in Great Britain.
As noted by prof. Maksymowicz himself has no doubts about the safety of the vaccine. – Doubts are raised by politicians because they do not know and do not orientate themselves. They raise an alarm because they don’t know whether to be afraid or not. It has been verified that there is no hassle here. We are in a time of a huge struggle between giants, you have to be careful in your judgments.
- Should Poland suspend vaccinations with Astra Zeneka? Prof. Simon answers
1,5 months ago, the professor submitted to the authorities a report announcing an increase in the number of infections in early March. He stated that “not all things are included, but a certain feeling of readiness must be maintained.” He considers the policy of tightening safety rules in the Mazowieckie, Pomorskie and Lubuskie voivodships to be justified: “After a year, we are already very well prepared to react. Certain situations are efficiently managed, and sometimes even exaggerated, because in closed voivodships there are poviats where the average of infections is lower than the national average, and people do not have a tendency to travel ”.
