Prof. Robert Flisiak, president of the Polish Society of Epidemiologists and Doctors of Infectious Diseases, predicts that the peak of the fourth wave will be extended throughout December.
– The epidemic is slowly dying out in the east of the country and will increase in central Poland, and later there will be outbreaks in the west. The average of infections will be at a high level all the time – said the expert.
The doctor pointed out that although the situation seems to be under control nationally, the health care system is already inefficient in many regions. According to prof. Flisiaka so is, among others in the province Lublin or Podlasie. – Patients with other diseases do not have access to care, temporary hospitals are established with the standard of military hospitals – he said.
