Procto-Hemolan is an agent used to treat and relieve the symptoms of external and internal anal hemorrhoids. The preparation helps to eliminate pain, burning, itching and skin tension that accompany people with hemorrhoids. Procto-Hemolan reduces the permeability of blood vessels and at the same time improves the tone of the blood vessel walls.

Procto-Hemolan – action

Procto-Hemolan is an anesthetic at the site of application. In addition, the drug strengthens the capillaries. It should be applied topically to relieve symptoms of varicose veins. In composition of Procto-Hemolan can be found:

  1. lidocaine, which has a local anesthetic effect. This substance has an amide structure and has a quick action. Lidocaine stops nerve impulses from being produced and transmitted. It works by blocking sodium channels, which are special structures in the membranes of nerve cells. Thanks to this, there is no depolarization of the neuron’s cell membrane, i.e. the generation and conduction of the nerve impulse. Lidocaine acts on nerve endings and sensory nerves. It is only administered by the parenteral route. In Procto-Hemolan relieves itching, burning and pain resulting from the presence of hemorrhoids;
  2. tribenoside, which protects the capillaries. This substance is anti-inflammatory, prevents swelling, soothes pain, itching and prevents damage to the vascular endothelium. Tribenoside reduces the permeability of blood vessel walls and improves their tension.

Procto-Hemolan has a local effect and, importantly, shows almost no systemic effect.
