Pridinol is a drug from the group of parasympatholytics and spasmolytics. It shows a centrally peripheral effect. It helps to eliminate excessive tremors of skeletal muscles and minimize involuntary movements. Its action is possible thanks to its muscle relaxant properties.

Pridinol – indications
The drug is recommended for people with:
- Parkinson’s disease and as a support in all other variations,
- muscle tension, which is of peripheral and central origin,
- nocturnal muscle contractions (as support for treatment),
- drooling.
Pridinol – contraindications
The main contraindication to the use of the preparation is hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients. Moreover, it is not recommended to use Pridinol when the patient suffers from:
- glaucoma
- prostatic hypertrophy (men only),
- difficulty or disturbance in urinating
- paralytic and mechanical intestinal obstruction,
- megacolon toxicum (acute distention of the colon),
- acute coronary or circulatory failure,
- Heart arythmia,
- tardive dyskinesia in the course of parkinsonism,
- myasthenia gravis (Erb-Goldflam disease).
Pridinol – dosage
The dosage is determined by the doctor after an individual consultation. However, according to the information on the leaflet, an adult patient at the initial stage of treatment should take 3 mg of the drug 5 times a day. The dose may be increased to 10 mg, but only if the doctor deems it necessary.
