Polish Amazons continue the health campaign called Appetite for Life. In line with its idea, on the World Cancer Day, the first specialist offices were opened, where Warsaw residents can benefit from research and specialist advice.

– Due to the warm welcome and huge interest, we decided to go a step further and expand the project. Together with the Oncology Clinic – Onkolmed, we are opening a Clinic with Appetite for Life. We are expanding the offer of available examinations and the group of specialist doctors – says Elżbieta Kozik, President of the Polish Amazons Social Movement.

– The Clinic with Appetite for Life operates within the Oncological Clinic – Onkolmed. Therefore, we invite all interested parties to the street Nowourysnowska 139L in Warsawwhere our clinic is located – says Elżbieta Wasilewska, director of the Oncological Clinic – Onkolmed.

The clinic will operate in a brick system. Each person who will benefit from the research will be asked to pay PLN 20, which will be donated to fund further tests for other applicants.

– Due to the huge interest in the research, we decided to launch a brick-built system for financing subsequent visits. We wholeheartedly want to provide research to everyone, so we ask for the support of those who have already benefited from it – explains Elżbieta Kozik.

– Amazons have been working for prevention for years. We have been running the Appetite for Life campaign since last year. Education is the first step in the fight for health. In our opinion, another key task is to ensure better access to preventive examinations. Thanks to research, we check our health and give ourselves a chance to react quickly if the need arises. Enough talk time for research! – emphasizes Elżbieta Kozik.

In Poland, the number of cancer cases is growing every year. The knowledge of Poles who use prophylaxis more and more consciously is also enriched. Why?

Breast ultrasound is an effective way to detect even the smallest changes in the breast tissue and lymph nodes. It should be in addition to the monthly manual checks performed by women a few days after the end of menstruation. Breast ultrasound is a non-invasive examination. It is best to perform them in the first phase of the cycle, i.e. up to 10 days after menstruation. The test should be performed once a year.

Ultrasound of reproductive organs just like an ultrasound examination of the breast, it is non-invasive. It allows you to assess the structure and detect any changes taking place in the reproductive organs. This test should be performed by every woman who has entered into sexual life once a year. The day of the cycle is not important in this case. It should be remembered that changes in the reproductive organs for a long time do not give noticeable symptoms, which is especially dangerous in the case of cancer development.

Examination of birthmarks for the prevention of melanoma, they can very effectively protect against aggressive skin cancer. Melanoma can develop in anyone, but Poles are at risk due to their fair complexion. A simple examination of the existing moles magnified allows you to decide which of them may be dangerous and which should be removed to reduce the risk of disease.

Consultation for HCV prevention build awareness of one of the main causes of hepatitis C (hepatitis C). HCC is the leading cause of one of the most malignant cancers – hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).

People with a genetic burden or at a higher risk should take particular care of regular preventive examinations. Detailed information on the research is available at www.ruchspocjny.org.pl and www.onkolmed.pl.
