Scabies are caused by microscopic mites, and lice are the cause of head lice. The course of the disease, symptoms and treatment of these diseases are different. Therefore, the measures for the prevention of scabies and head lice are different:

  • Most often, children in collectives – kindergartens and schools are exposed to lice infestation. Check the baby’s scalp once a week for timely detection of the disease. Pay particular attention to the areas at the temples, behind the ears and at the back of the head.
  • Give your child regular hair care. It is better for boys to have short haircuts, for girls to braid their hair or do other neat hairstyles.
  • During an outbreak, treat your child’s head with special protective equipment, which can be bought at the pharmacy. If you find lice or nits on your child’s head, you need to inform the educational institution where he works. This will help prevent the spread of the disease.

No one is immune from infection; you should not panic when head lice is detected. Modern drugs are safe for children and can get rid of parasites in 1-2 applications.
