It’s no secret that women are much more emotional than men and take any situations, both joyful and sad, closer to their hearts. That does not reflect in the best way on this vital organ and can provoke cardiovascular diseases.

It is generally accepted that mortality from cardiovascular diseases is higher in men than in women. But, in fact, experts say that women develop such diseases later, but they die from them more often than men.

Live by the rules

Here are some basic rules to help preserve your heart:

  • Listen to yourself and get regular check-ups with your cardiologist. According to statistics, every third woman has cardiovascular diseases, but more than half of those who died from this had no external manifestation of symptoms.
  • The more risk factors – frequent stress, age, excess weight, heredity – the more carefully you need to take care of yourself.
  • Try to eliminate saturated fats from your diet (they remain solid at room temperature – lard, butter), ask your doctor to develop an individual exercise and nutrition program for you to prevent cardiovascular disease.
  • Regular consumption of folic acid can prevent cardiovascular disease… Folic acid is found in large quantities in the leaves of green plants (“folium” is translated from Latin as “leaf”). It can be found in dark green vegetables (spinach, lettuce, asparagus), carrots, yeast, liver, egg yolk, cheese, melon, apricots, pumpkin, avocado, beans, wheat and rye flour.
  • The natural amino acid 5-hydroxytryptophan increases serotonin levels in the brain and is good for stress, depression and anxiety. It can be taken in dietary supplements, it is recommended to consume 50-100 mg per day.
  • According to a study conducted by experts at the University of Washington, the consumption of 5,5 grams of fatty acids per month halves the risk of dying from cardiac arrest. It is enough to eat 100 grams of salmon four times a month.
  • Scientists have proven that people who tend to keep all emotions to themselves are 4 times more risk of suffering a heart attackthan those who are not afraid to speak out – after all, suppressed anger puts an incredible load on the vessels.

People who are nervous at work due to increased demands, low pay, or unfairness have a 50% higher risk of heart disease. Therefore, try to treat the situation in a simpler way, or look for another place.

Women more often than men do not dare to openly express their emotions. Gradually, the tension grows, and as a result, the effect of a “steam boiler” arises: if you do not release steam from it for a long time, sooner or later the boiler will explode. Don’t wait for this to happen, voice the problem!

Learn to manage yourself

Try to “pronounce” the situation – voice your thoughts and disappointments, show emotions (especially negative ones) – no matter how difficult and scary you may be. Moreover, you need to speak out as calmly as possible.

But what if, on the contrary, you do not know how to restrain yourself and without hesitation “rush into battle”? Of course, it is difficult to remain polite and logical in such moments, but you can learn to manage anger.

Start simple. If something annoys you, sit down and try to calm down. Then take a piece of paper and write down what specifically you don’t like. Be sure to try to come up with a solution to this problem. And only after you have thought it over calmly, start the conversation.

Try not to offend the other person. Remember: you do not like this person’s actions, but not himself. You cannot say, “You are bad.” Better say, “You did a bad thing.” And even more correct: “It upsets me (angry, pissed off) when you do this.” And remember that there is a way out of any situation, and you need to look for it.
