Preparation and use of medicinal tincture of the golden mustache

Golden mustache, or fragrant callisia, is a houseplant native to Mexico. For a tall grassy stem and narrow long leaves, the people called callisia corn. The ancient Aztecs considered the golden mustache almost a panacea. Modern scientists have not yet fully explored the plant. But in folk medicine, golden mustache tincture is widely used to treat many diseases. Experienced herbalists assure that fragrant callisia is not inferior to ginseng in its healing effect.

Useful properties of the golden mustache

All above-ground parts of the plant: leaves, stems, shoots – contain substances necessary for the human body:

• flavonoids, in particular, quercetin and kaempferol. Quercetin has an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect, strengthens the walls of blood vessels, stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis in brain cells, which accelerates recovery after traumatic brain injury. Kaempferol counteracts the formation of malignant tumors;
• beta-sitosterol – reduces the level of bad cholesterol in the blood, prevents hair loss. In EU countries, the compound is used to treat prostate carcinoma and breast cancer;
• chromium – regulates blood sugar levels, normalizes carbohydrate metabolism. The element prevents the development of diabetes and disorders in the thyroid gland;
• sulfur is an essential component of synovial fluid. The substance has an analgesic and antiseptic effect, gives the skin elasticity, and hair – strength and shine;
• copper – improves immunity, participates in the synthesis of hemoglobin, collagen and elastin (vascular wall tissues), normalizes the functioning of the endocrine system, as well as the process of producing female sex hormones.

Preparations with golden mustache extract help with:

• weakened immune system, increased fatigue;

Preparation of tinctures of the golden mustache

Leaves and stems of young plants are not used for infusion. Golden mustache is considered ready for medicinal use when its shoots turn dark purple. For the preparation of tinctures, all above-ground parts of fragrant callisia are suitable. They can be insisted both on vodka and on 70% alcohol. But with diseases associated with impaired hematopoiesis, the endocrine system, women’s diseases, weakness of the walls of blood vessels, the use of strong alcohol is undesirable. In such cases, it is preferable to insist fragrant callisia on vodka.

The recipe for tincture on the golden mustache depends on which part of the plant is used and for what purpose the drug is intended.

Tincture on knees (internodes) of shoots

To prepare the tincture, shoots are cut off, on which there are at least 5 knees, and preferably 10-15. The outlet at the end of the shoot is cut off, it can be planted or used to make a tincture on the leaves.

The amount of alcohol depends on the number of knees (their length does not matter): for 1 knee you will need 20 ml of vodka. For example, 10 crushed knees are poured into 200 ml of vodka. The glass bottle or jar is closed and placed in a dark place. Shake the vessel with tincture every 2-3 days. After 2 weeks, when the liquid acquires a rich purple color, it is filtered.

This medicine is taken orally and dosed strictly drop by drop. For the treatment of fibroids and amenorrhea, an even more concentrated tincture is used: at the rate of 10 ml of vodka per 1 knee.

For external use, a concentration of 30 ml of vodka per 1 knee is sufficient.

Leaf tincture

For a glass of crushed fragrant callusia leaves, you will need 400 ml of vodka or alcohol. The drug is insisted for 2 weeks in a dark place, then filtered. The tincture is suitable for both external and internal use. The dosage is not as accurate as in the previous case: the medicine is measured in teaspoons.

Tincture on the internodes of the trunk

This tincture is used exclusively externally, you can not drink it. Raw materials are poured at the rate of 1 internode – 30 ml of vodka. Insist in a dark place for 2 weeks, then filter.

Mixture of leaf juice with vodka

For some diseases, combined preparations are prepared: the juice of the leaves of the golden mustache is mixed with the juices or infusions of other plants, vodka is used as a preservative. These medicines must be prepared and taken strictly according to the instructions.

The use of tincture on the golden mustache for the treatment of various diseases

Callisia tincture is taken either 30-40 minutes before meals, or 2 hours after it. If the malaise is due to overwork and you just need to strengthen the immune system, the medicine is drunk 2 times a day in a teaspoon for 2 months, the course is repeated after 2 weeks. With such prevention, digestion, sleep improves, the patient becomes calmer. Taking the medicine in this dosage is useful for allergy sufferers.

Treatment of colds and bronchopulmonary diseases

If the disease is accompanied by fever, prepare a mixture:

• 100 ml of tincture of golden mustache leaves on vodka;
• juice from 1 kg of viburnum berries;
• a glass of honey.

The medicine is insisted for a day in a cool dark place, taken one tablespoon three times a day half an hour before meals. With a runny nose, 2-2 drops of callisia leaf juice are instilled into each nostril 3 times a day (morning and evening).

With angina, bronchial asthma, tuberculosis, take a tincture of leaves in a teaspoon 3 times a day, before meals. The course is 5 days, then a break for 3 days.

In diseases of the throat, liquor is useful:

• 0,5 cup finely chopped golden mustache leaves;
• 0,5 cups of crushed aloe vera leaves;
• 1 cup of sugar.

Infuse the mixture for 3 days in a half-liter jar, then pour vodka to the top and insist for another 3 days. Strain the liquor and take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day until complete recovery.

Treatment of prostate adenoma

In this disease, you should drink a tincture of leaves 2 times a day for a teaspoon (before meals). In parallel, every evening they put a compress from the tincture on the place where the pain is felt. The course is 2 months, a month later it is allowed to repeat.

Treatment of amenorrhea and fibroids

Concentrated tincture of shoot knees (10 ml of vodka per 1 knee) is drunk in courses:

• 1st day – 3 times 1 drop before meals;
• 2nd day – 3 times 2 drops;
• …
• 30th day – 3 times 30 drops;
• 31th day – 3 times 29 drops;
• 59th day – 3 times 1 drop.

A break between courses is a month, it is necessary to conduct at least 3 courses.

Normalization of metabolism, treatment of diseases of the endocrine system

In case of metabolic disorders, diabetes mellitus, other diseases of the endocrine system, it is recommended to drink tincture of knees (20 ml of vodka per 1 knee) according to the scheme:

• 1st day – 3 times 10 drops before meals;
• 2th day – 3 times 11 drops;
• …
• 31th day – 3 times 40 drops;
• 32th day – 3 times 39 drops;
• 61st day – 3 times 10 drops.

It will take 3 courses in a row, a break between them – a month.

Anemia Treatment

It is recommended to take a tincture of leaves by a teaspoon 3 times a day before meals for 7 days. Then you need to take a blood test. If there is no improvement, the course is repeated after 5 days.

Treatment of diseases of the musculoskeletal system

In diseases of the joints, osteochondrosis every evening, the sore spots are thoroughly rubbed with tincture of leaves or internodes of the stem. In parallel, for 2 months, take 3 times a day before meals, 1 teaspoon of leaf tincture.

Treatment of diseases of the oral cavity

With bleeding gums 2 times a day, morning and evening, rinse your mouth with an aqueous solution of tincture of leaves or knees in a ratio of 1:5.

Acne Treatment

Every day at night, the affected areas are smeared with tincture of the knees.

Preparing medicine:

• 100 ml of golden mustache leaf juice;
• 100 ml of nettle juice;
• 100 ml of vodka;
• 1 st. l. honey.

The mixture is insisted for a day and taken in a teaspoon 2 times a day: in the morning – before meals, in the evening – after meals, at night.

Conditions for taking golden mustache tincture

During the application of tincture on the golden mustache, it is not recommended to eat meat, white bread, confectionery, salty and spicy dishes, drink fruit juices. It is necessary to enrich the diet with vegetable juices, lean vegetable soups.

Contraindications to taking golden mustache tincture

It is strictly forbidden to take tincture:

• up to 18 years;
• pregnant and lactating;
• with kidney disease;
• during chemotherapy.
