The loss of menstruation is the result of fatigue, strong stress – this is how young women try to explain the lack of a period and feeling bad. Sometimes, however, it can mean premature menopause – this happens to one in a thousand young women under the age of 30. It’s way too early.
Menopause is a natural reaction of the female body to the passing years. Most women enter menopause between the ages of 45 and 55. At the same time, two concepts should be distinguished: menopause (means the last menstrual period) and menopause (the process that leads to the cessation of menstruation). Menopause, therefore, is triggered by a disruption of the endocrine system. There are ovarian fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels. The effects of these changes are disturbances in the regulation of the autonomic nervous system, changes in the emotional sphere, and in later life, osteoporosis.
In young women, often the result of faster menopause are factors that have a very strong impact on the process of body destruction: heavy smoking, cancer, chemotherapy, draconian diets, fasting, anorexia, bulimia. In many cases, the cause of this condition are also genetic factors and various diseases such as diabetes, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, disorders of the immune system, hormonal disorders. Therefore, one should not underestimate the signals of our body when we notice: – irregular, very weak or heavy menstruation; hot flashes, night sweats, sweating disorder; – flushing of the face; – weight gain; – sleep disturbances; – vaginal dryness; – heart palpitations; – depressive moods. to confirm the diagnosis will order the following tests: USG – this will assess the ovaries and the uterus; Blood tests – regulates hormone levels. In addition, the doctor may order additional tests: prolactin level (PRL), thyroid hormones (T3, T4) i hormone secreted by the pituitary gland – TSH.
It should be remembered that it is possible to stop the progress of premature menopause. The most common is hormonal treatment, which aims to restore and normalize the function of the ovaries, and which helps to go through this unpleasant period more gently. Successful hormonal treatment balances hormone levels and can even stop the slow decline of ovarian function. Then there is a good chance of getting pregnant. Hence appeal to young womennot to ignore menstrual disorders. Regardless of the reasons, the process of menopause at such a young age is a great tragedy for the woman who goes through it.
