Acupuncture. Acupuncture is sometimes used to detect certain problems during pregnancy. Treatments could decrease and interrupt contractions in the event of a threat of premature labor, while soothing the expectant mother. However, no scientific study has clearly demonstrated these beneficial effects.4.
Feverfew. Feverfew is traditionally renowned for its effectiveness in stimulating menstrual flow and inducing abortion, pregnant women are advised to avoid it.
Juniper. Juniper berries, in capsule form or berry extract, should be avoided during pregnancy, as they are a uterine stimulant. They could cause an abortion and induce contractions.
Cannelle. According to Commission E, pregnant women should avoid consuming large amounts of cinnamon in oil or taken from the bark5.
