After IVF, due to the action of hormones that a woman takes, some sensations may increase. The same hormones, if their dose is exceeded, can cause symptoms similar to pregnancy.
Overly emotional women can wind themselves up with unnecessary worries that the pregnancy did not take place. These emotions can be detrimental to the development of the embryo. Doctors strongly recommend distracting yourself from these thoughts with needlework or reading books.
When can a pregnancy test be done after IVF?
Doctors definitely advise to carry out the test no earlier than 2 weeks after IVF. Moreover, it is not the test readings that will be more accurate, but the result of a blood test for hCG and an ultrasound scan.
There are often cases when analyzes and testing give the opposite result. This may be due to:
- poor embryo attachment;
- increased concentration of hormones.
The test result can be erroneous, and the decisive factor is the planting of different degrees of cell maturity. three-day-old embryos produce two strips after 10-11 days. A weekly embryo will show pregnancy in 7-9 days.
It should be remembered that any test results obtained at home may be unreliable. For this reason, you should not be upset with a negative test result.
