Pragmatism is a view according to which everything is determined by vital utility, practically useful results, in this sense, by practice. Practice, and nothing but practice, is the criterion of truth and semantic significance.
Applied to morality, pragmatism is indifference to the moral cost of obtaining a result: «The end justifies the means.»
A pragmatist is a person who evaluates an issue in terms of immediate benefit and personal benefit.
When applied to the search for truth, the pragmatic approach sounds like «Truth is what is useful, what solves certain life tasks better than other views.»
