Powder with SPF

There is a rich selection of tonal and BB-products with a sun protection factor. But if you don’t like liquid textures, opt for an SPF powder without sacrificing UV protection.

Features of powder with SPF factor

What is the SPF factor and why is it needed in decorative cosmetics? SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a factor that indicates the degree of protection from the sun. Cosmetics with SPF help prevent premature aging of the skin and protect against ultraviolet rays without preventing sunburn.

Our faces are constantly exposed, so the skin needs protection from the sun, especially in summer and even in the city. And when going out of town or to the beach, it is important to remember that powder with SPF will not replace sunscreen.

Features of the composition of powder with sun protection

Of course, the main feature is the presence of a sunscreen, and sometimes a sufficiently high degree of protection!

The sunscreen powder contains, most often, minerals that gently protect the delicate skin of the face.

Selection rules

Choose broad-spectrum protection from Type B rays, which cause burns, and Type A rays, which are responsible for signs of premature aging and more severe effects up to malignancy.

It is very important to choose a powder with SPF that is right for you!

For light summer makeup, a less dense powder is optimal. If you have sensitive skin, look for the “hypoallergenic” label on the packaging.

Types of powder with SPF

There are different degrees of protection, from SPF 15 to 30, and you need to choose the right one based on the phototype: the lighter the skin, the higher the protective factor should be.

Despite the presence of the SPF factor, it is impossible to consider the powder as a full-fledged sunscreen. Still, powder is decorative cosmetics, and SPF is just a useful bonus.

Mineral

Mineral powder does not provoke inflammation, therefore it is recommended for owners of sensitive and oily skin. It does not clog pores and does not contain preservatives, and the minerals work as an antiseptic.

Loose

This is a dry powder, enclosed in a jar under the lid with dispenser holes that allow you to apply the right amount of powder. It is often used as a light version of powder, for example, to set makeup.

compact

A familiar type of powder is a powder pressed into a compact block. It has a denser texture than loose, but it is easier to use, and the case does not take up much space even in a small purse.

Application rules

  1. Use a brush for loose powder or a sponge for compact. For a denser coverage in both cases, a sponge is suitable.

  2. Apply powder with light movements after cleansing the skin and the usual care, or on top of the foundation to set makeup, powdering the face from the center to the periphery.

  3. Use a small amount of the product – the skin should look natural, without the effect of a mask.

When choosing a new product, do not forget to check the skin for an allergic reaction: apply a little powder to a small area on the back of your hand and wait 1-2 hours. In case of redness or irritation, the use of this cosmetic product is not recommended.
