The story of
Potato Kamensky is a variety bred by a group of breeders (Koshkarov V.P., Klyukina E.M. and Shanina E.P.). Received on the basis of the Ural Agricultural Research Center. After passing state variety tests in 2006, an application for admission was submitted.
The variety was included in the register of breeding achievements in 2009. Approved for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatka and Ural regions. It also spread to neighboring areas. Valued for good taste and high marketability.

Variety Kamensky has good resistance to cold, so it can be grown in most regions. First of all, the culture is intended for the Ural and Volga-Vyatka regions. It is also allowed to grow Kamensky in the middle lane, the Volga region and up to Siberia and the Far East.

How to plant
Planting Kamensky potatoes is planned not earlier than the May holidays – it can be at the beginning or in the middle of the month. The place should be open, without shade and stagnant water. The variety grows on different types of soil, but for a good harvest, you first need to dig up the soil and fertilize it with compost or humus (a bucket per square meter). If there is too much clay in the ground, sawdust or sand is embedded in it (up to 5 kg for the same area).
3-4 weeks before planting Kamensky potatoes, seeds should be transferred to a lighted and cool room (15 degrees), laid in two layers, periodically turned over and sprayed with water. The day before planting, they are treated with a fungicide, for example, Quadris.
Landing pattern is standard:

Kamensky potatoes are undemanding to care for. But to get a good harvest, you need to create minimum conditions. The basic rules of agricultural technology are as follows:
- If it rains periodically, it is enough to water at the time of planting. In hot weather, it is better to give water weekly so that the soil does not dry out and crack.
- Fertilizers are applied twice a season. After the mass emergence of seedlings, water with mullein infusion 1:10 or give a complex fertilizer in the amount of 40 g per 10 liters. A similar composition is introduced during the formation of Kamensky potato tubers.
- The soil is periodically loosened, weeded. To keep weeds as small as possible, straw, hay, sawdust or other mulch can be placed between the rows and in the holes.
- Hilling is carried out after the appearance of mass shoots, and then two more times every 2-3 weeks.
- Two weeks before harvesting, watering is completely stopped and the tops are cut off, leaving 10 cm stems.

Potato Kamensky belongs to early ripe varieties – the crop fully ripens in two months from the moment the first shoots appear. If planted in mid-May, you can collect root crops at the end of July, and start digging in the middle of the month.
Work is best planned in dry weather. Previously, the tubers are allowed to lie down a bit, shaken off the soil, then sorted into medium and large. The latter should be used first. Small Kamensky potato tubers can be left for planting.
The bulk of the crop is harvested in a cool, dark room and kept for two weeks at a temperature of 12-15 degrees. Then they clean it in the basement, cellar. Store at a temperature of 2-4 degrees Celsius and moderate humidity up to 70%. Periodically ventilate to prevent stagnation of air and moisture. Subject to the described rules, the keeping quality is very high – up to 97% of the resulting crop is preserved over the winter.
