Variety description

The description of the Ilyinsky potato variety traditionally begins with its history. This potato was bred in Our Country at the end of the last century by a group of breeders in the Moscow region with the help of several farms in which additional tests of the variety were carried out. The originator is the All- Research Institute of Potato Farming named after A.G. Lorch. The variety was registered in the State Register of Our Country in 1999 with recommendations for use in the Middle Volga and Central Black Earth regions of Our Country.

Ilyinsky potato bushes are of medium height, have good foliage. The stems tend to fall apart from the center, as with most potato varieties, so the hilling procedure is necessary and allows you to increase the yield due to the formation of additional tubers in the hilling zone. The leaves are medium in size, the waviness along the edge is practically absent. The inflorescences are very small, with a purple-red corolla.

Alexandra, 44 years old, Noginsk
And we have the earliest potato on the table – Ilyinskaya. We start eating it in mid-July. Young potatoes with sour cream, and even from your own garden, are a real pleasure. They say that in order to speed up the ripening of late potatoes, they need to be planted mixed with early varieties. That’s exactly what I do.
Sergey, 28 years old, Saransk
And my parents also advised me to plant this particular potato – Ilinskaya. We really liked the taste, universal in use. Her wife cooks and bakes, and cooks a lot of different things from her – everything is very tasty. And it keeps great. It may well lie in the cellar until spring. And at the same time, it ripens quite early – already in July we begin to slowly dig it up and eat it.
