If you want a hearty, simple and quick-to-prepare dish that can be served to both households and guests, choose the potato sausage casserole. By the way, this option is also suitable if after the holidays you have a little sausage and mashed potatoes that need to be used.
Potato casserole with boiled sausage
A simple and quick casserole can easily become a full-fledged second course. To complete it, you need the following ingredients:
– 200 g of boiled sausage; – 4 medium sized potatoes; – 100 g of hard cheese; – 1 onion; – 3 eggs; – 200 ml sour cream; – olive oil; – 2 cloves of garlic; – 3 tbsp. low-fat cream; – salt and pepper.
Heat the olive oil in a skillet, then add the finely chopped onion and garlic. Saute them until the onion pieces are almost translucent. Then pour the cream into a deep bowl, add sour cream and eggs, add a little pepper and salt. Mix the resulting mass thoroughly with a whisk.
While you are preparing the mixture, boil and cool the jacket potatoes. Then peel it and cut it into thin slices. Cut the boiled sausage into circles. Finally, grind the cheese with a grater and transfer it to a separate plate.
Choose a cheese that is not overly pungent and will melt easily in the oven. Dutch or Russian can be used
Take a baking sheet or baking dish, brush the sides and bottom thoroughly with olive oil, and then start to lay out the food in layers. Put potatoes first, then sausage, onion and garlic, potatoes again. Top with sour cream mixture and sprinkle with cheese. The casserole should be cooked in the oven at 180 ° C for 40 minutes. Then it is recommended to cool the dish and only then serve it on the table.

If you want to know how you can cook potato casserole in an unusual way, pay attention to the dish with sausage and mushrooms. For cooking, you will need the following products:
– 10 medium potatoes; – 250 g of boiled sausage; – 200 g of champignons; – 1 onion; – 1 carrot; – 2 eggs; – 2 bell peppers; – olive oil; – salt and pepper.
Chop the food first. Grate the carrots and finely chop the onions, sausages, mushrooms and bell peppers. Combine mushrooms, peppers, onions and carrots and transfer to a skillet. Then add 2-3 tbsp. water, cover the pan and simmer vegetables and mushrooms over low heat for 10 minutes.
Remember to stir the food and be careful not to burn it all the time. Add some more water if necessary.
When the vegetable mixture is ready, add the sausage, olive oil, pepper and salt to it and then simmer over medium heat for 5-6 minutes. While the filling for the casserole is preparing, boil the water and boil the potatoes in their skins, then cool and peel them. Grind the potatoes with a grater or crush them, then add eggs and salt to the resulting mass.
Mix the puree thoroughly and place half in a greased baking dish with high sides. Put the filling on top, cover it with the remaining potato mass and bake for half an hour at 200 ° C. Then cool the dish and serve.
