Lignohumate is an environmentally friendly fertilizer that stimulates plant growth

When comparing positive and negative qualities, the second is not even worth talking about. There are practically none. However, Lignohumate fertilizer has many advantages. One of them is a yield increase of up to 30%.

Lignohumate: an innovative plant growth stimulant.

Structure of the preparation

The main raw material for the production of Lignohumate is wood. In other words, fertilizer is nothing more than a product of the processing of natural material. However, it is important to delve into the basis of the chemical composition, which will give a better idea of the drug.

The chemical composition includes:

  • alkali metal salts;
  • fulvates;
  • humates.

Fulvic and humic acids of natural origin. They form naturally in the soil. There are more humates in percentage terms. However, it is fulvates that have a better effect on plants, stimulate their growth. Fulvic acids are not as stable as humates. They are quickly neutralized. To replenish them in the soil, the drug Lignohumate is used. It replenishes the deficiency of fulvates, but another problem arises. Fulvic acids activate plant growth, help to absorb nutrients faster, but do not replenish the lack of trace elements. The problem is especially pronounced on soils that are poor in composition.

In order to prevent imbalance, microelements are included in the composition of Lignohumate. They are in chelated form. Why this is so – the answer is simple. Chelates have the ability to retain active nutrients for a long time. As needed, they give them to plants.

Important! The presence of microelements in the composition of the fertilizer is indicated by the presence of the letter “M”. For example, Lignohumate AM or BM.

Lignohumate marked with the letter “A” is a dry modification of the fertilizer

Growth stimulator is produced by different brands with a letter designation from “A” to “D”. The release occurs on the basis of potassium and sodium, but it is not necessary that they are active substances. This refers only to the method of obtaining fertilizer from the main raw material.

The properties and composition of fertilizer obtained on a different basis are different:

  1. Growth stimulator sodium is suitable for use in greenhouses. On open ground, it is used to fertilize cucumbers and pumpkin crops.
  2. Potassium growth stimulant is considered universal. It is recommended for LPH.

It is potassium lignohumate that is most often found on sale, and it is worth considering in more detail. Preparations marked “A” are dry modification. Marking with the letter “B” indicates a liquid modification. However, the presence of only one letter in the name of Lignohumate indicates that the drug does not contain microelement chelates. Their presence is confirmed by the second letter in the marking – “M”. The designation of a fertilizer enriched with chelates looks like this:

  • “AM” – dry growth stimulator;
  • “BM” – liquid growth stimulator.

The cost of Lignohumate with the letter “M” in the label is much higher. However, such a growth promoter is suitable for all applications, especially on poor soils.

Types and forms of release

As discussed above, Lignohumates are produced in dry and liquid form. The first option is represented by granules of different shapes. They resemble round tablets, a mass passed through a meat grinder or a powder with large fractions. The active substance in dry granules of Potassium Lignohumate AM contains up to 90%.

The second fertilizer option is a liquid solution. However, it is also concentrated. Lignohumate must be diluted with water before use. The drug is convenient when you need to quickly prepare a solution without settling or, if you need a small dosage for applying to a small area. Liquid stimulant is used in drip irrigation systems, as it does not precipitate. The active substance Lignohumate potassium brand BM contains up to 20%.

Important! Liquid stimulant brand “B” and “BM” is used as an antidepressant additive to pesticides. A preliminary test for component compatibility is not required.

Impact on soil and plants

Lignohumate is not only a growth stimulator and fertilizer. The drug has a beneficial effect on the soil, plants, is safe for the environment, bees, humans. The use of Lignohumate on the site gives the following positive effects:

  1. The drug enriches the soil with humus. Lignohumate improves the structure and composition of the soil due to its liquefying ability.
  2. After applying fertilizer to the ground, earthworms and other beneficial inhabitants are attracted.
  3. In plants, an increase in resistance to stress is observed.
  4. Cultures develop faster, fruiting improves.
  5. The fruits acquire a marketable appearance, increase in size. There is an increase in juiciness, improvement in taste.
  6. Lignohumate stimulates the development and fruiting of crops with a decrease in doses of mineral supplements. Soil and plants are less saturated with pesticides.
  7. There is an increase in the action of biological products used to protect crops from diseases and pests.
  8. Lignohumate provides a complete feeding of growing crops.

The drug has excellent bactericidal and fungicidal properties. Its use on the site reduces the risk of developing fungi and bacterial diseases.

Rules for the use of Lignohumate

The fertilizer is considered harmless, does not contain hazardous chemicals. However, the drug is still a concentrated substance. In order not to harm the plant, you must follow the rules of application.

How to dilute the drug

All modifications of the drug are diluted with water before use. Dry granules dissolve practically without sediment. They can be dissolved simply in cold water, stirring with a stick. Liquid Lignohumate in packaging containers tends to settle. Before diluting it with water, the bottle with the concentrate is well shaken. No filtration is required to apply the working solution to the soil. An exception may be drip irrigation with a special design of droppers that can become clogged with small particles.

The index of the alkaline reaction of the concentrate (pH) is 9-9,5 units. Add it to the working solution. May be added to the tank mix. However, its concentration should be in the range of 0,1–0,005%. If the pH is below 5,5 units, a flaky precipitate will form.

Important! When top dressing with a working solution with a concentration above 1%, temporary inhibition is observed in plants.

Lignohumate consumption rates

The drug is used to prepare seeds, fertilize all types of crops. For the first option, on an industrial scale, special machines are used for grain dressing. The consumption rate of Lignohumate per 1 ton of seeds of dry granules is 100-150 g, liquid concentrate – 0,4-0,75 l. However, in its pure form, fertilizer is not used. For seed treatment, the working solution is diluted with the addition of a disinfectant and a dye. Lignohumate acts as an adhesive.

According to the table, the required concentration of the working solution is prepared from dry or liquid Lignohumate

For tank mixtures, dilute the solution with a concentration of 0,1-0,005%. Increasing the dose by more than 1% is not recommended. In plants, a strong solution causes oppression.

Instructions for use of Lignohumate-AM

Dry preparation, regardless of the shape of the granules, dissolves well in water. The solution is prepared in the required dosage before its use. It is important to consider that the concentrate has a pronounced alkaline reaction. It is optimal to immediately select the right amount of water and granules in order to obtain a working solution of low concentration.

The working solution from granules is optimally prepared immediately at a low concentration

If it is planned to use Lignohumate in conjunction with other drugs, do not rush to mix them. You must first familiarize yourself with the composition. Lignohumate is compatible with many drugs, but when it enters an acidic environment, a precipitate forms. The solution becomes unsuitable for use in a sprayer or irrigation system.

Plants are watered or sprayed with a working solution, the seed is treated. If the concentration of the drug exceeds 1% due to a cooking error, the cultures will be inhibited. Plants are recommended to be treated in the same way as fertilizing (watering or spraying) with clean water.

Instructions for use of Lignohumate-BM

The liquid concentrate is used in a similar way. First, it is dissolved in water to the desired dosage. It is only important to pre-knock the canister. From long-term storage Lignohumate is defended. The main components settle at the bottom of the canister.

Liquid Lignohumate is shaken in a canister before being diluted with water.

The scope is similar to the preparation with a solid form of release. Plants are watered or sprayed with a working solution, seed is treated in combination with pesticides and fertilizers.

Compatibility with other fertilizers

The growth stimulator is compatible with all drugs that do not have an acidic environment. With pesticides, Lignohumate is used for seed preparation. It acts as an adhesive, suppresses up to 50% of phytopathogens.

The combination of a growth stimulator with mineral fertilizers allows you to reduce the dosage of chemicals. It is allowed to use with biological products, the basis of which consists of nitrogen-fixing bacteria.

Pros and cons of application

Lignohumate is considered to be completely effective and safe. From a large list of positive qualities, the following points are distinguished:

  • good solubility even in cold water, which allows the solution to be used without special filtration;
  • low consumption of the drug per 1 ha of land affects the cost of the crop;
  • fertilizer is combined with many chemical and biological preparations;
  • Lignohumate improves soil composition, provides plants with all useful substances;
  • fertilizer is harmless to people, bees, the environment, since natural raw materials are used as a basis.
