Positive thinking is a type of thinking where, when solving life problems, a person sees mainly advantages, not disadvantages; good luck, success and life lessons, not mistakes and bad luck; goals and objectives, not problems; opportunities, not obstacles; their desires and resources, not wants and needs.

Positive thinking is not about ignoring the negative. Positive thinking is about looking where you need to be and doing what you need to do. And in order to really do something, it’s usually stupid to make lists of what I don’t have, you need to quickly find out what you own, what are your resources.

There is no bread, there is no one to bring it to you and there is no good weather for you to go for bread yourself? Yes, but there are apples to chew on, and you can go for the bread yourself if you get dressed and take an umbrella. This is positive thinking.

Positive thinking combines elements of both positive and constructive, positive worldview and is more often inherent in strong people, active individuals.

Positive thinking helps to respond calmly, without accusation, constructively to one’s own and other people’s mistakes, build competent criticism, provide motivation and support. Positive thinking is one of the most important tools and an important stage in personal development, the key to business success, interpersonal and inner harmony.

At the same time, positive thinking should be realistic, constructive and responsible. If you are unwell, you have a high fever and a severe cough, you can interpret your condition in different ways, from «Horror, I’m dying» to «Everything is in order, I’m starting to be treated.» Second, a positive attitude is better for health and for the soul. However, telling yourself and others that this is all nonsense, refusing to gargle and sitting naked in a draft is another. This is not positive thinking, but stupidity and irresponsibility.

The opposite of positive is negative thinking. Negative thinking is a bad habit we learned in childhood. Children quickly get used to the fact that if they get upset, they will console you, if they are afraid, they will support you, if they give up, mom and dad will cheer you up. The child’s complaints draw attention to him, and next to caring elders, negativity is beneficial. Children get used to complaining and getting used to negativity, get used to being dissatisfied, objecting, blaming and swearing — at others and at themselves, after which they grow up and find themselves in a situation where the elders are no more, and the negative remains with them. Oh pa! And what to do next? Some adults continue to complain for the rest of their lives, a smaller part decides to grow up and no longer complain. And to wean yourself from the childhood habit of negative thinking, teach yourself to think positively. It’s really helpful.

Positive thinking in the work of a teacher trainer

It is extremely important for the trainer to speak positively, because every word affects the motivation of the group. Awkward language can cause protest, while a well-structured speech, on the contrary, can raise the working mood of the group. Suppose, at the end of the class, the teacher, without thinking, said, “I hope to see you not so sleepy next time.” Mistake. What for? It would be much more correct to say “I expect more activity from you” or even like that, suggestion: “You are active, you can do it!”.

In general, work, work and work!

Positive thinking with mystical undertones

There is healthy positive thinking, and there is with mystical nuances. There are a large number of people who are inclined to a mystical worldview, believing that by the power of their thinking they can control the Universe, change the order of natural events. For such people, positive thinking means training their faith that their faith will magically do everything for them. “Suddenly a magician will fly in a blue helicopter”, and the planes themselves will begin to fly wherever they wish … See →
