Popular types of peels

Translated from English, the word peel means “exfoliation”. Basically, peeling, as brutal as it sounds, is damage to the skin that replaces old cells with new ones and stimulates collagen and elastin production. You can handle the face, neck, décolleté and arms. According to the depth of impact, peelings are divided into superficial (affecting only the upper layers of the epidermis), middle (epidermis up to the dermis) and deep (affecting the papillary layer of the dermis). Peelings are acid, mechanical and laser.

Chemical peels

ANA peeling. Popular superficial peeling. Glycolic, malic, lactic, mandelic acids are used. Removes freckles, acne marks, refreshes the complexion. Suitable for: ladies 25-35 years old.

Acid is applied to the face with a brush for a few minutes. You may feel a slight tingling and burning sensation. Then a neutralizer to soothe the skin. For a day or two, the skin will be reddened. Then it will begin to peel off. As a rule, 4-6 procedures are carried out with an interval of a week to achieve a persistent visible effect. But after the first procedure, the skin is smoothed and looks refreshed.

Caution! Bath, sauna, sunbathing, scrubs for the entire period of procedures and rehabilitation are prohibited.

TSA peeling. Medium peeling. Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used at a concentration of up to 50%. Copes with wrinkles of medium depth, pronounced pigmentation, in some cases with scars and scars, visibly tightens the face. Suitable for: ladies 25-35 years old.

The process will be long and painful. Everything about everything – preparation, peeling itself and subsequent rehabilitation – will take about a month. The duration of the session itself depends on the concentration of the acid (the higher it is, the shorter the time of exposure to the skin). Usually no longer than 15 minutes. You will have to go through at least 2 sessions. If the problems are very serious, then up to 5 sessions.

At first, the face swells, then a crust appears, the skin begins to peel off. After 10 days, the face becomes alive and takes on a normal color, you can return to normal life. The final result will be visible in 2-3 weeks.

Caution! No sunbathing for at least 3 months!

Retinoic, or “yellow” peeling. One of the most effective. From the point of view of the speed of healing, it is referred to as superficial peels. By the degree of impact on the skin – to the middle. Tightens pores, improves skin tone, smoothes acne marks, evens out skin relief. Suitable for: ladies 35-45 years old.

Relatively painless procedure. Retinoic acid or Retinol palmitate is applied to the treated area. The course is from 1 to 3 sessions every three weeks. The skin will peel off after the fact, but the rehabilitation period is not too long – up to 2 weeks.

Caution! Retinoic acid puts a significant strain on the liver, therefore peeling is not recommended for pregnant and lactating mothers. Retinol palmitate is not as toxic, but also not as effective in the fight against age-related changes.

Mechanical peelings

Brossage. Superficial peeling. Evens out skin relief, removes fine expression lines. Suitable for: ladies from 35 years old.

First, the skin is steamed to open the pores, then it is smeared with a special gel and treated with rotating brushes. On average, one session lasts 10 minutes. The course is 4-6 procedures once a week. Literally after the first session you start to look much younger.

Caution! Thin aging skin, eczema, demodicosis, acute inflammation (herpes), acne, rosacea, rosacea, moles.

Dermabrasion, or resurfacing. Deep peeling. Copes with age spots, scars, scars, fine wrinkles. In response to mechanical damage, active production of collagen and elastin begins, a “tightening effect” appears, and the oval of the face becomes clearer. Suitable for: ladies from 40 years old.

The procedure is traumatic and is performed under anesthesia. The skin layer is removed with a special nozzle with an abrasive surface. In fact, this is a surgical intervention, the postoperative period will be long – recovery will take up to several months.

The skin heals for a long time, but the result is a noticeable rejuvenating effect.

Caution! Protect your face from sunlight for 3-6 months after dermabrasion. Alas, scars and hyperpigmentation may appear. Contraindications: moles, skin diseases, too thin dry skin.

Laser Peeling

Depending on the depth of penetration, peeling can be superficial, middle and deep. Copes with expression lines, bags and circles under the eyes, pigmentation. The laser beam stimulates collagen production in cells. Suitable for: ladies from 40 years old.

It is carried out in a hospital under anesthesia. The laser evaporates moisture from the cell, the cell dies and peels off. The depth of laser penetration is strictly controlled by the device, which eliminates the risk of scarring, and also allows you to make the border between polished and unpolished skin invisible. One session is enough. The effect lasts up to 5 years.

Within 2-3 weeks, the skin may look pink, as if “burnt” in the sun.

Contraindications: tendency to scar formation and hyperpigmentation
