Indications
The preparation is indicated for the treatment of moderate and high intensity pain.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation or to other opioid analgesics, acute intoxication with alcohol, hypnotics, centrally acting analgesics, including opioids or psychotropic drugs, epilepsy that does not respond to treatment, concurrent use of MAO inhibitors (tramadol should not be used during and 14 days after stopping treatment with MAO inhibitors), treatment of opioid dependence.
Do not use the preparation in children under the age of 14.
Dosage
The doctor always selects the dosage individually depending on the intensity of the pain and the patient’s reaction.
Adults and children over 14 years of age weighing more than 50 kg:
The usual dose is 100-200 mg twice a day, every 2 hours (up to a maximum of 12 mg a day).
In cancer and postoperative pain, it may be necessary to increase the daily dose. In patients over 75 years of age, the doctor will probably recommend an appropriate extension of the dosing intervals.
For patients with moderate renal or hepatic insufficiency, the recommended drug is capsules rather than prolonged-release tablets.
People with severe renal or hepatic insufficiency should not use this preparation.
The drug should be washed down with a small amount of liquid; take regardless of meals, preferably in the morning and evening. Swallow the tablets whole, do not chew or crush them
