Polish doctors concerned about the situation in Ukraine. They are calling for blood to be donated

On February 24, Our Country launched an invasion of Ukraine. Voices of support for Ukraine and condemnation of Vladimir Putin’s actions come from many sides. Polish doctors represented by the Supreme Medical Council also expressed their solidarity with the people of Ukraine. We present the official positions of the NIL.

Polish doctors concerned about the situation in Ukraine

Deeply concerned and moved by the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, the Presidium of the Supreme Medical Council and the Convention of Presidents of the District Medical Councils express their solidarity with the people of that country, who are experiencing a military attack that deserves strong condemnation, reads the official communiqué.

“As a medical community, we think with particular care about all victims of an armed conflict, whose life and health are exposed to great danger, enormous physical and mental suffering. We wish our colleagues, doctors and all medical staff strength and perseverance in this difficult time of great trial.

Expressing the conviction that it is never too late to de-escalate the conflict, the medical self-government hopes that diplomatic means will be used as soon as possible, aimed at ending hostilities and leading to a peaceful solution to the current situation, ”writes the Chamber.

Blood will be needed

Doctors also point out that blood will be needed in Ukraine soon. Therefore, they appeal to the medical community to donate blood.

«The Presidium of the Supreme Medical Council, in connection with the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and in order to provide assistance to the victims of this armed conflict, asks colleagues of doctors and dentists as well as representatives of other medical professions and medical students with a request to donate blood.
