“We are approaching the threshold of population immunity”
What may the growing number of unvaccinated children in Poland lead to? The National Institute of Hygiene has no doubts: “Such a situation threatens us with compensatory epidemics (or periodic – editor’s note) of diseases against which we have free, safe and effective vaccines available, after all” – he informs. As the National Institute of Hygiene explains, when a larger group of unvaccinated children gather in a given area, contact with, for example, the measles virus or the pertussis bacterium, in the long run, may result in a local epidemic.
Before each immunization, you pass a Vaccine Qualification, which you can even conveniently buy online at Medonet Market.

In November, prof. Iwona Paradowska-Stankiewicz, national consultant in the field of epidemiology. The scientist admitted that the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccinating the largest possible population against SARS-CoV-2 are currently the biggest challenge. However, it must not be forgotten that there are other infectious diseases against which protective preparations are available, and long-standing vaccinations cannot be neglected.
As an example, prof. Paradowska-Stankiewicz reported poliomyelitis, i.e. Heine-Medin’s disease. The data of the National Institute of Public Health of the National Institute of Hygiene shows that in 2016, vaccination against this disease in our country reached almost 92%, in 2020 it fell to slightly over 85%. – We are approaching the threshold of population immunity and it is more and more endangered – warned the professor.
