In Poland, there is a growing interest in performing commercial tests for coronavirus. People who, for various reasons, have not received a free referral for the test, have had contact with infected people or are going abroad for various reasons, want to be tested. More and more often private companies also decide to commission research packages for a larger group of employees. Laboratories declare that they are ready for increased interest.
Gazeta Wyborcza reports that the cost of genetic testing for coronavirus infection in Warsaw is PLN 495. They can be performed in several places, in the laboratories of the following companies: Diagnostyka, Invicta, Polmed, Medicover, Zdrowe Geny, ALAB Laboratoria and MedGen.

Adrian Konstantynowicz from Invicta told GW that several dozen people come every day to test the grounds of the National Stadium. You have to wait 24 to 36 hours for the result. Several dozen people report to the Diagnostyka Laboratorium collection point in Warsaw every day. Dr. Tomasz Anyszek claims that it is caused, among others, by introducing entry by some countries for foreigners only with a negative test result, and adds that his company can perform 5. research a day.
– Greece introduced these rules last week and we immediately felt it in the number of customers. But the increase is also related to the increasingly disturbing statistics on the number of people infected with the coronavirus in Poland – said Dr. Anyszek.
Grzegorz Polus, marketing director of Grupa Diagnostyka, confirms that more and more people want to test, and at the same time are calm about the capacity of all laboratories.

However, I do not know if it is not due to the fact that we have been included in the list of laboratories performing this type of research. Unfortunately, we send those who are willing with a receipt, because we do not have a collection point.
At the moment, the facility works only on behalf of hospitals, and the efficiency of the analyzer is sufficient for the current needs.
In Salve Medica facilities, you can test for SARS-CoV-2 infection by RT-PCR – a molecular test that allows you to identify people who have an infection asymptomatically – individually and in groups. An individual examination with Polish and English language version costs from PLN 500. Group tests commissioned by institutions and workplaces are cheaper. Their prices vary depending on the number of people tested.
– In recent weeks, the number of tests has remained at a constant level, and we do a lot of them – says an employee from the Salve Medica genetic laboratory in Łódź. – The waiting time for the result is 24 hours.
This facility is also secured in the event of a sudden increase in interest.
In terms of the number of tests performed per capita, Poland is in the penultimate place in Europe. The number of studies has recently ranged from 18 to 30. per day. All results are automatically sent to the health department.
