People who, for various reasons, have not received a free referral for the test, have had contact with infected people or are going abroad for various reasons, want to be tested. More and more often private companies also decide to commission research packages for a larger group of employees. Laboratories declare that they are ready for increased interest.

Grzegorz Polus, marketing director of Grupa Diagnostyka, confirms that more and more people want to test, and at the same time are calm about the capacity of all laboratories.

In Salve Medica facilities, you can test for SARS-CoV-2 infection by RT-PCR – a molecular test that allows you to identify people who have an infection asymptomatically – individually and in groups. An individual examination with Polish and English language version costs from PLN 500. Group tests commissioned by institutions and workplaces are cheaper. Their prices vary depending on the number of people tested.

– In recent weeks, the number of tests has remained at a constant level, and we do a lot of them – says an employee from the Salve Medica genetic laboratory in Łódź. – The waiting time for the result is 24 hours.

This facility is also secured in the event of a sudden increase in interest.

In terms of the number of tests performed per capita, Poland is in the penultimate place in Europe. The number of studies has recently ranged from 18 to 30. per day. All results are automatically sent to the health department.
