POLCROM – action
Polcrom is an ophthalmic preparation and is responsible for the stabilization of the mast cell membrane with antiallergic properties. Due to the active substance (sodium cromoglycate), it is possible to inhibit the release of compounds that mediate allergic reactions, such as histamine and leukotrienes. Sodium cromoglycate, thanks to its use in the form of eye drops, reduces and relieves symptoms of, for example, acute conjunctivitis or swelling of the mucous membranes.
POLCROM – indications and dosage
Polcrom is recommended for the treatment of allergic (spring, seasonal) conjunctivitis and keratitis. If we want the treatment to be effective, it should be started before contact with a given allergen and continued throughout the season (it is recommended to use the drug systematically for a longer period of time).
