Poland will provide oncology assistance to children from Ukraine

The military situation in Ukraine does not escape children either. Hospitals are starting to run out of medicine and food, moreover, there is a risk that small cancer patients will have to stop treatment. The Ministry of Health announces that children from Ukrainian oncology departments will be transported to Poland and will continue their treatment here.

Poland will provide medical assistance to people arriving from Ukraine. — Every citizen of Ukraine, regardless of whether hospitalization, specialized outpatient treatment or the help of a family doctor is needed, has the opportunity to receive help, said Polish Minister of Health Adam Nedzelskyi during a press conference on Wednesday.

Emergency assistance to people who have already arrived in our country is one thing. Another thing is to help children who need specialized help, including those who are still in Ukraine.

— As for children who need cancer treatment, we will also organize help. This kind of therapy cannot be stopped, we are in contact with centers in Poland – Deputy Minister of Health Valdemar Kraska said – Children from hospices will also go there. Actions will be coordinated at the level of the Ministry of Health, he added.

— Medical programs will also be available to people from Ukraine. People who need it will have the opportunity to get help, said Nedzelsky. — We also provide transport for these patients, emergency medical care is used. We have a decision that allows admission to the Child Health Center, – added the head of the department.

Soon after that, the Deputy Minister spoke about the transportation of oncological children at a meeting of the Senate Committee on Health Protection. — These children will also be brought by our medical train.
