The Asian region is inhabited by 4,68 billion people, Africa – 1,37 billion, Europe – 748 million, North America – 597 million, Latin America – 434 million, Oceania – 43 million people.

In 1804, the world’s population exceeded 1 billion for the first time. In 1930, it exceeded 2 billion, in 1960 – over 3 billion, in 1974 – over 4 billion, in 1987 – over 5 billion people.
