Playing guitar for beginners kids, teach preschool age
So that playing the guitar for children does not seem like something difficult, it is necessary to conduct classes correctly. It is also important to choose the right tool.
Choosing a guitar for beginners (preschool children)
For a child, it is better to choose a classical guitar with 1/2 or 3/4 sizes, then it will be easier for the child to hold it. Do not buy an expensive model, because after some time you will want to change it to another. But even the cheapest guitars are not worth buying, because they are difficult to tune. This means that it is almost impossible to play on them.
It is best to use nylon strings at first. Of course, they sound quieter, but they are easier to press. And the child’s fingers will not hurt after school. If you decide to study on metal strings, then choose the thinnest ones. And they should be for an acoustic guitar.
How to teach guitar playing
It is easier to send a child to a music school, where preschool children are taught by experienced teachers. But if you decide to give music lessons on your own, then adhere to these rules:
- Make friends with the child with the tool. To get started, tie a sock around the bar and let the kid simply “jangle” on the instrument. He must learn to use his fingers.
- Learn simple tunes. Better to be the first “Grasshopper”, “Gypsy” or the Seven Nation Army.
- Review the lessons learned. Toddlers love to play what they can. Therefore, there will be no problems with repetition.
- Improve the speed of chord changes. After learning new ones, turn on the timer and invite your child to rearrange their fingers several times in a minute. Then sort out the mistakes with him and repeat the exercise.
- Simplify chords. If the child learns a melody, but some passages are not working out for him, then change the key. Or find chords that are played on fewer strings.
- Leave the theory for later. It is not necessary to dump all the names of the chords on the kid for the first lesson. This will complicate learning.
- Don’t ask too much at home. Of course, it is necessary to encourage practice, but it is better for the kid to repeat a short task 5-6 times than to play one long one.
- Do not forget to praise the kid for the successful completion of the assignments. If the child makes a mistake, do not scold him, but point out the miscalculation in a calm tone.
Teaching a child to play the guitar is not that difficult. The main thing is to show patience and instill in your baby a love of music. And then he will quickly master the instrument and achieve excellent results in the game.
