Home flowers can diversify and revitalize any interior. They make the atmosphere in the room more calm, because the human eye, stopping at flowers and plants, always rests. But do not mindlessly purchase indoor plants without thinking about how to place them and without knowing anything about caring for them. Such a purchase should be carefully planned, then the flowers will delight you for a long time.
While you have not yet decided on the choice of a flower, pay attention to the interior in which he will live. Probably, after carefully looking at the pattern of wallpaper or upholstery of furniture, you will no longer buy a certain type of plant.
The brighter and more saturated your wallpaper, the more pronounced the pattern on it, the more difficult it is usually to choose the right plant for such an interior. For flowers, the ideal background is a light wallpaper with no pattern at all. Some plants look good against a dark background, they are constantly flowering or those that have light or variegated leaves.
For wallpaper with a large pattern, choose plants with small leaves and flowers; for a small pattern, on the contrary, large-leaved massive plants are suitable. If the wallpaper has a clearly defined geometric character, it is better to choose flowers with carved leaves and chaotically growing stems. So, in the case of vertically geometric wallpaper, ampelous plants may look inappropriate.
There are many options for placing plants in the interior: – floor vases, – wall pots, – special shelves for plants, – stands for a group of plants, – suspension from the ceiling. – installation on a window sill.
One should be guided not only by how the flower will look in the chosen place, but also by its own needs for sunlight, warmth and humidity.
Tall spreading plants, like ampelous ones, visually make the ceiling in the room higher. But hanging flowers and placing large vases on the floor is not recommended where people often walk. Curly flowers are best placed where they can create a beautiful pattern.
Additional lighting of indoor plants in the interior of the apartment will not only help them feel more comfortable, but also emphasize their decorative effect, and will allow to place accents. It is not for nothing that light is one of the main tools in interior design: with the help of various lamps, you can create almost any mood. The most beautiful plant will be lost next to the correctly highlighted one.
The most commonly used types of light: – directional (lamps are located above the plant or group). Emphasizes integrity by highlighting details; – illuminating (the lamp is located under the plant). Allows you to form intricate romantic shadows behind the plant; – back (lamp behind the plant, but shines on the viewer). Used to create mood, looks good with large plants.
It is best to illuminate plants with spotlights so that their effect is narrowly directed. Make sure that the lamp does not heat the flowers themselves. This is easy to check by bringing your hand to the closest leaves: if you feel warmth, it is better to move the lamp away.
