Planets of the solar system: terrestrial group and gas giants

Solar system – This is a system of planets, in the center of which is a star (our Sun), and around – rotating space objects formed in a natural way. It is believed that it was formed about 4,57 billion years ago as a result of gravitational collapse (ultra-rapid compression of massive bodies under the action of gravitational forces) of a gas and dust cloud.

Below are two tables with a list of the planets of the solar system in order from the sun and information on them: name, mass, radius, surface area, volume, density and distance to the sun. Also, for comparison, all the presented parameters are correlated with similar terrestrial characteristics.

Earth group

The four planets closest to the Sun are called the terrestrial planets. They are part of the inner region of the solar system, which also includes the asteroid belt.
