Pita roll with chicken: video recipe

Lavash roll with chicken is a great alternative to sandwiches on the festive table. And not only. This dish can be the main one during breakfast or dinner, as it includes hearty, tasty and healthy ingredients – chicken meat, eggs, vegetables, herbs. Lavash is a unique product that, under the influence of mayonnaise and tomatoes, turns from a dry flatbread into the most delicate bread in a few minutes, completing the amazing taste of the roll.

Chicken pita roll: recipe

You will need:

– thin pita bread – 3 sheets; – chicken breast – 1 piece; – mayonnaise – 250 ml; – chicken egg – 3 pieces; – sweet Bulgarian pepper – 1 piece; – fresh dill – 50 g; – leaf salad – 100 g; – fresh tomatoes – 2 pcs.; – garlic – 2-3 cloves; – salt to taste; – butter for frying tomatoes – 30 g (2 tablespoons).

You can get creative and add ingredients like chopped walnuts, your favorite spices, green onions, and more.

put the chicken breast in a saucepan with salted water and put on high heat. As soon as it boils, reduce heat to low and cook the breast until cooked through. This usually takes about an hour. Then cool the meat and chop finely with a knife or chop in a blender.

Some gourmets prefer larger pieces of pâté-like shredded chicken. To do this, you can simply disassemble the boiled breast into fibers, everything else – according to the recipe

Boil the eggs hard-boiled (after boiling the water, cook for 8 minutes), cool and chop them. Cut the bell pepper lengthwise, remove the seeds along with the partitions and cut into thin strips. Chop the dill and additionally grind it in a mortar to give juice and aroma. Finely chop the tomatoes, lightly fry in butter and leave to cool. Pass the garlic through a press (garlic).

Mix the chopped chicken breast with the bell peppers, chopped into strips and 100 g of mayonnaise. Add chopped dill to the remaining amount of mayonnaise and mix. Add the garlic passed through a press to the fried cooled tomatoes. The ingredients for the chicken pita roll are ready.

Place one sheet of pita bread on a cutting board. Lubricate it with a mixture of mayonnaise and dill, put lettuce leaves on top. Cover with the next sheet of pita bread and place the mixture of chicken breast, pepper and mayonnaise on it in an even layer. Then the third sheet of pita bread, on which place the fried tomatoes with garlic.

Gently roll the pita bread into a tight roll, wrap it in foil or plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator. The ideal holding time is 10-12 hours, but if time does not wait, you can extract earlier. Take out the roll, unfold the foil or polyethylene and with a thin knife cut into portions 2-3 cm wide. Arrange the rolls on a nice plate and serve. It is not necessary to decorate the dish, it already looks very beautiful.
