Pita is an unleavened, round loaf of bread with a void inside. In eastern countries and in the Mediterranean, pita is consumed not only as bread, but also used as a plate, placing various foods inside. Why don’t we take advantage of such a wonderful and tasty opportunity, and there is no need to wash the dishes! Here are some ideas.
1. Breakfast, lunch and snack with pita
Cut the pita and put an omelet, salad, banal cheese with sliced meat inside, it is good, in the case of cheese, to fry such a pita in a grill pan, thereby heating the cheese, which will add spice, and children really like it. Also meatballs with salad, fish with vegetables, vegetable purees and falafel get along well in pita.
2. Pizza from pita
Take pita, brush with tomato sauce, top with grated cheese and everything you find in the refrigerator: pieces of meat, vegetables, fish, seafood …, another layer of cheese and put in the oven or microwave for a couple of minutes.
3. Almost khachapuri
Combine several types of cheese with chopped herbs, place the filling inside the pita and pan or bake in the oven.
4. A successful snack on the festive table
It is very convenient to lay out various salads in pita halves, remember how with tartlets? Make an assortment of different salads, put it on a large platter – and it looks smart and very convenient to eat.
