Pistache, a fun app to encourage children to be independent
No more repeated requests!
No need to constantly ask your children to brush their teeth, tidy their room or set the table… With the Pistachio app, parents create a profile for each child, and then assign them daily “missions”, with defined days or recurrence: “three times a day”, “every Saturday”, etc.
A large number of tasks are already programmed, which facilitates the configuration of the application, but it is also possible to add and customize them.
Children having fun
Based on the principle of learning by doing, the Pistache app then presents the child his missions of the day and the week. He then only has to indicate that he has completed a task in order to be assigned a number of keys. It is the “currency of exchange” on the application, since the keys then allow access to playful content: games, cartoons or the unlocking of collectible characters. The child is therefore motivated to accomplish what is asked of him with the pleasure of key reward.
Routine or special mission?
Setting up daily tasks such as “washing your hands when you come home”, “doing homework”, etc. will allow a safe routine to be set up for children and reassure parents. We can also schedule missions more occasional such as cleaning the wardrobe in the spring, preparing your suitcase before the holidays, etc.
In all cases, parents can follow the progress of completed tasks without asking the children several times if it’s done: it also develops a climate of trust. Once on the app, a news feed appears.
Towards personalized rewards
In early 2017, a update of the Pistachio app is planned, which will also allow you to customize the rewards and add for example “a soccer game with mom or dad”, “permission to invite a boyfriend or girlfriend home for a pajama party”, etc. At stake: the notion of “merit”.
