The use of a pipe calculator for calculations allows you to find out what kind of transport capacity is needed to transport the purchased material, as well as the cost of production. In addition, the mass of a running meter of a pipe must be known for the calculation of metal structures.
The main parameters of round pipes are:
- outside diameter;
- wall thickness;
- length.
To calculate the weight of the pipe, it is necessary to indicate the material of manufacture and its dimensions: diameter, wall thickness and total length (L). If you do not change the length value of 1 m preset in the calculator, then we will get the weight of a running meter of a round pipe.
The mass of the pipe is calculated by the calculator using the formula:
m = p×ρ×t×(D—t)×L
Where:
- π – 3,14;
- ρ is the density of the material;
- t is the wall thickness;
- D is the outer diameter;
- L is the length of the pipe.
The calculator calculates the mass of the pipe by the wall and diameter, as well as the material of manufacture. When selecting polypropylene from the drop-down list, an average specific gravity value of 950 kg/m is used.3 for these types of plastics.
