Pinch face massage

It is absolutely not necessary to sacrifice precious hours of sleep and communication with loved ones for the sake of beauty. Quick and easy tricks that can be done even during your lunch break will help out – for example, a pinch facial massage.

What is a pinch facial massage

Performing it, the masseur captures the skin with the thumb and forefinger, making pinching movements. Pinch massage refers to therapeutic – it was invented by the doctor, French dermatologist Leonard Jacquet. He partially used the techniques of Chinese massage, but somewhat rethought them. During a Jacquet massage, a strong point effect is exerted on the skin. They don’t stroke it, don’t rub it, don’t knead it, but take it in a clamp and release it, and they do it very quickly.

In addition to Jacquet massage, there are other types of pinch massage. It is considered quite aggressive, but its therapeutic effect pays for not very pleasant sensations in the process.

Pinch massage is not the most pleasant, but the result is obvious!

Indications and contraindications

In principle, pinch facial massage is useful at any age for both men and women. For young people, it will allow you to maintain skin elasticity and tone for a longer time, and with certain age-related changes, it will improve the condition of the skin. But the main indications are a wide variety of skin problems:

  • acne disease;

  • high fat content;

  • acne and post-acne;

  • scarring;

  • constantly occurring comedones;

  • oily seborrhea, etc.

If we talk about prohibitions, then pinch massage is contraindicated when:
  • herpes;

  • external damage to the skin of the face (wounds, scratches);

  • spider veins and capillary network on the face;

  • allergic rashes;

  • exacerbation of chronic diseases;

  • increased body temperature;

  • inflammation of the facial nerve.

Also, pinch massage is not recommended for women with facial hair (hirsutism).

Benefits of face and neck massage

Of course, it is difficult to call this technique pleasant; people with a low threshold of sensitivity recommend it with caution. But on the other hand, it is difficult to overestimate the benefits:
  • pinch massage improves microcirculation, due to which the skin becomes smoother and more elastic;

  • the work of the sebaceous glands is normalized;

  • the skin is updated faster, scars, post-acne, wrinkles become less noticeable.

Types and techniques of tingling massage

There are three most common pinching massage techniques:
  • according to Jacquet;

  • Korean myostimulating;

  • pinch facial massage in oriental technique.

If there is no desire or opportunity to go to the salon, you can perform the procedure at home – but at first only under the guidance of an experienced specialist.

Technology for performing pinch massage according to Jacquet

Both in the salon and at home, massage is done after cleansing the face, without the use of creams and oils. Face and hands can be sprinkled with talcum powder. The optimal session time is about 10 minutes. Massage is performed in the supine position, from the bottom up, along the massage lines.
  • Neck – its front part is plucked from the bottom up, and the side parts – from top to bottom.

  • The lower contour of the face is plucked from the center of the chin along the edges of the lower jaw and up to the earlobes.

  • Proper plucking of the skin around the mouth: first from the corners of the mouth to the ear, and then from the area above the upper lip to the ear.

  • The earlobes are plucked.

  • Plucking from the wings of the nose to the ears, from the sides to the temples, from the bridge of the nose to the tip, from the back to the sides.

  • The upper eyelid is plucked from the inner corner of the eye to the outer, the lower – in the opposite direction.

  • The forehead is plucked from the center to the temples, parallel to the eyebrows. You can also pluck your eyebrows.

The pinches should be intense, but light at the same time. Each line can be plucked twice. After pinching, vibrating movements, kneading and stroking follow the lines. When all the lines are passed, the massage is over. It is better to do it once a week, usually 8-10 sessions are performed. You can repeat in six months.

How to do myostimulating pinching massage

This type of massage is called not only pinching, but also pulsating – because of the specific movements. The skin is gently pinched and pulsating movements are made with the fingers. This massage is done after applying a cream or lotion to the skin, the duration of the procedure is 15-20 minutes.
  • Thumbs and forefingers capture the beginning of the eyebrows. The skin is slightly compressed and the fingers begin to “pulsate” along it – 20-30 times, while the fingers move towards each other.

  • The central parts of the eyebrows are also worked out.

  • Thumbs and forefingers pinch the skin on the cheeks and perform about 30 pulsating movements. The fingers move to the temples, then the movements are repeated – and so on, until the hands have worked out the entire area of the cheeks from the center to the periphery.

  • With thumbs and forefingers, they find a muscle on the edge of the chin – it is located diagonally from the corners of the lips. The muscle is worked out with pulsating movements 20-30 times, while the corners of the lips seem to rise.

  • In the same way, the muscle located under the ears, on the border with the jaw, is worked out.

  • Myostimulating massage can be done in courses of 15-25 sessions, they are performed every other day or 2 times a week. The main purpose of the procedure is to keep the skin of the face in good shape and prevent its sagging (ptosis).

How to do pinch massage in oriental technique

This type of massage is mainly aimed at correcting the oval of the face. The pinching technique is the same as with Jacquet massage, it is also combined with smoothing, but each zone has its own movements. The duration of the session is 10-20 minutes.
  • Chin – plucked from the center to the periphery and up to the ears. If there is a slight burning sensation, the massage is performed correctly.

  • After plucking, the chin is smoothed and kneaded with three fingers from the center to the ears. The pressure should be light and the pace slow, as opposed to pinching.

  • The neck does not need to be plucked, it is worked out with smoothing movements. First, the head is turned to the left, the chin is raised and the muscles of the right side are smoothed with a little pressure. Then do the same with the left side.

This massage can be done daily or every other day.
