Pierre Ducana: diet menu, interview

The French nutritionist has put the English royal family, Penelope Cruz, Jennifer Lopez, Johnny Holliday, Gisele Bündchen and millions of women around the world on a diet. He came to Moscow to meet with the readers of his book “I Can’t Lose Weight” in Russian, and answered Antenna’s questions about the diet menu and more.

Pierre Dukan spoke about the diet menu and Russian women

– Pierre, let’s forget for a minute that you are a nutritionist. As a Frenchman, have you noticed something special about Russian women?

– I’m surprised you have so many beautiful women. There is a certain similarity in Russian eyes: an interesting greenish color and a very bright black pupil. You will not find such eyes anywhere in Europe. There is also a category of tall, fit, graceful, well-dressed women who take incredible care of their appearance and beauty. But maybe I’ve seen so many of them because I live in expensive hotels. And most women, as elsewhere, do not put their appearance in the first place, but do not forget about it either. The following story happened at the hotel at breakfast. A very beautiful, young, tall woman, sitting at the next table, took a knife and, looking into its blade, began to touch up her lips with lipstick. It is wonderful! I saw this for the first time in my life!

– How do you like Russian food? What did you find harmful and useful in it?

– Unlike France, you have a lot of fresh and smoked fish. You will not find such tasty and high-quality smoked and salted fish in Europe. I really liked the pickled vegetables: tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, onions, garlic. Now about the bad. Dishes use a huge amount of mayonnaise, and mayonnaise is sold on shelves in stores. There are still many meat products with excessive fat and alcohol content, but this is the case everywhere. In France, very tasty and world-famous bread, but this is an ordinary white loaf. And your bread is approached with imagination: there is black, gray, with bran, cereals, onions, fruits, spices on top. Russia has much richer traditions of bread production than France, and the largest number of varieties of bread that I have seen in all countries. This struck me the most.

– We also love potatoes, pasta, rice. How do you feel about such side dishes?

– These are products of the past. Previously, when there were no cars, starchy products were wasted in a day, now they are not. In nature, ideally, a living creature should spend as many calories on catching food as it contains. I have to hunt a wild duck, cook it and eat it with my wife and children. And we easily get groceries in stores, sit in the office all day, lie in front of the TV in the evening, eat pies, delicious sweets, and by the evening we do not use up the stock that we eat in a day. If you put aside a little reserve every day, then you begin to get fat.

– Yes, but we sit and sometimes even lie in stress. How can you deny yourself, beloved, in sweets!

– And you do not refuse! Add oat bran, sweeteners to baked goods and eat as much as you like. For 10 years now, women and men around the world have been sending me recipes that match my diet, and I choose the best ones. Now I’m going to show you a thick recipe book, it’s in French. Take a look: here are biscuit cakes, almond cakes, cheesecakes, chocolate muffins, small meringues, pancakes, pancakes, ice cream. Aren’t they pretty?

Thursday is a day for weight loss

– In the photographs, the sweets look quite appetizing. Only how can you lose weight if you absorb all this, and even following your principle: “Eat as much as you want”?

– My diet is divided into four parts. Two in order to lose weight, and two in order not to gain weight. In the first weight-loss parts, there is the smallest – “Attack”, lasting from three to six days. At this time, you can eat 72 products that contain protein: beef, chicken, salmon, eggs. You lose weight very quickly, by about three kilograms. In the next phase, “Rotation,” add 72 vegetables to 28 foods, get 100 foods, and continue to lose weight at an average rate of one kilogram per week until you reach your correct weight. Then move on to the “Anchoring” phase. Add fruits, black bread, cheese, twice a week you can eat rice, pasta, potatoes. This phase continues for each individual, at the rate of 10 days for each kilogram you lost. The last phase “Stabilization” should last for the rest of your life. There are only three rules to follow. Once a week is protein Thursday, when you return to the first stage and eat only protein foods. Walk at least 20 minutes a day and not use the elevator, especially if you live below the 5th floor. Consume three tablespoons of oat bran every day. I guarantee that if you follow all three rules, you will not gain weight. And if you do not do it, then it will be typed. Here’s a double guarantee!

– How did you get the insight about this diet?

– I worked as a neurologist in a small Parisian clinic in Montparnasse. One of my patients was obese and could not lose weight in any way. He began to ask me for help, although I explained to him that I did not understand nutrition. When he said: “You can forbid me any food, just let me eat meat,” I replied: “Then for five days eat one meat and drink a lot of water.” Then the solution came intuitively, now I can explain it. When the body is given many, many proteins, the body does not understand how to extract energy from them. He takes away the minimum he needs, and throws away the rest. The secret is to put aside food with carbohydrates and fats, and eat protein, non-nutritive foods. Then the body will be forced to use its own fat for energy.

– If tomorrow is a date, how to lose weight in a day?

– Arrange a protein day and you will lose a kilogram. People who follow my method can gain 800 grams in the fourth phase, but one protein Thursday washes them away. I used to tell my patients just about one day a week, and they put it off for later, forget it and put on weight back. Then I decided: “It will be Thursday.” Everything changes when there is a specific day. Since in restaurants people began to ask for dishes only from meat, poultry, fish, seafood, large restaurants in Paris on Thursdays introduced an additional menu for those who follow my diet. There is such a menu in the famous restaurant Le Fouquet’s, where the President of France comes to dine. And one of my clients photographed a small kiosk on the Croisette in Cannes. It sells “Ducan’s sandwich” with oat bran. So unexpected.

There is nothing wrong with Diet Coke.

– So maybe, on the contrary, it’s time to worry that everyone is dieting en masse? Why should French and Russian women lose weight, are they not fat at all?

– You are right, according to the reports of the World Health Organization, both France and Russia have no problems with overweight population. The starting point is when more than 50% of people in the country are overweight. England and Germany have already crossed this barrier, in America 75% of obese people, and in France and Russia about 50%. And this figure cannot be exceeded, it is bad for the health of the nation. I travel around the world and explain that people should avoid manufactured products. It is better to eat a tomato than drink tomato juice. Manufacturers, in order to recruit you as loyal vassals, add fat and sugar to industrial products and catch you with advertising.

– How do these words fit in with the fact that you are perhaps the only doctor who recommends drinking Diet Coke?

– There is nothing wrong with Diet Coca-Cola. Drinking a bottle of regular cola, you consume eight lumps of sugar, three bottles – half a box of sugar, and sugar is poison. And Diet Coke, like any diet soda, contains sweeteners. There is no evidence that the consumption of sweeteners is dangerous. Sweeteners are not prohibited in any country in the world. It is the sugar producers who create and spread rumors to the masses that sugar substitutes are bad, it’s better to eat sugar. I’d prefer people to drink water. But if they do not want to drink only water, it is better to drink Coca-Cola light than soda with real sugar. And tea, of course, is very healthy, it contains tannins, which even help fight cancer. And tea is doubly necessary for women, it well removes excess stagnant water from the body.

Kate Middleton lost a lot of weight on the Ducan diet

– Let’s decide who really needs to lose weight and who doesn’t. The following formula is popular with us: the ideal weight of a Russian woman is to subtract 100 centimeters in height, and 110 to subtract a French woman.

– No, what are you! Any woman starting from the age of 18 gains a kilogram every ten years, with each child – one or two kilograms. This is fine! Weight is influenced by heredity, what is the maximum and minimum number of kilograms we have in adulthood, the weight that has been held the longest, heavy or light bones. By the way, it is elementary calculated. With two fingers, index and thumb, wrap your wrist. If the fingers do not come together, the bone is heavy, converge – normal, superimposed on each other – thin. On my site (now there is a site in Russian), by answering the questions, you can calculate your correct weight. It is very important! A woman who does not want to put up with the fact that she gains a little weight and drives it out of herself every year is less beautiful because she is covered with wrinkles. A woman is like a fruit, and the fruit should have a well-taut skin, then it looks fresh and attractive.

– And your star patients are capricious?

– On the contrary, for stars to be beautiful is a profession, and they put in much more effort than ordinary people. But they want to be accepted immediately, they speak their language, they could call in the middle of the night to ask if they can eat carrots. They introduce themselves: “I am such and such a princess, she is.” When I was younger, I admired it. Now I say: “Well, wait a little, there’s a queue, you know.” I refuse to give in to them, but I can’t help but admit that they help to promote my methodology. The cousin of the Queen of England, Lady Elizabeth, is publishing a recipe book for my diet. She was very happy that she lost 17 kilograms, and when she organized the wedding of Princess Kate Middleton and Prince William, she advised my diet to Kate and her mother. And French presidential candidate François Hollande lost 20 kilograms on my diet, he said: “Maybe this will help me win the presidential elections.”

– Do the stars have favorite dishes?

– I know that Kate Middleton – cheesy soul, and Penelope Cruz loves oat bran.

– What is the best result in kilograms of your diet?

– The absolute maximum is 100 kilograms. I received a three-sentence email from a woman living in Martinique: “Thank you. I bought your book and thanks to you I lost 100 kilograms. ” I thought that she was mistaken, she wanted to write “10 kilograms”. But the lady sent me before and after pictures. It turned out that she weighed about 170 kilograms, bought my book, met a friend. A friend told her that she could not lose weight. She took up the challenge and lost weight in one year. She is now a beautiful 45 year old woman.
