Syn.: Utajone PID, silent PID.
Def .: Inflammation of the minor pelvis without symptoms typical for PID, i.e. pain in the lower abdomen, temperature and others.
Epid .: More than half of women suffering from infertility caused by damage to the fallopian tubes do not report a history of PID, although the vast majority of them have antibodies directed against C. trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
Etiol .: As for PID.
Clinical: Some women have a history of menstrual disorders, pain during intercourse, or scanty vaginal discharge. In some women, histological changes in the endometrium can be found, indicating an infection.
Healing: Antibiotics – if test positive for gonorrhea or chlamydia.
Year: Some destructive changes in the fallopian tubes causing infertility may be irreversible.
