Photographer’s Day is celebrated in July. The holiday is dedicated to people whose job is to capture the most important moments of our lives and the beauty of the world around us. How it will take place in 2022 in Our Country and the world – read the material of ” Healthy Food Near Me”

Photography has become an integral part of everyone’s life. The presence of a smartphone or a simple “soap box” simplifies the process of obtaining an instant frame. Now we can take a hundred photos that make sense and are completely useless.

But there are people for whom photography is a calling and an art. It is not difficult to take a photo of a flower, it is much more difficult to convey the charm and grandeur of nature. Everyone can take a picture of a cat, but not everyone will do it in such a way that the photo “catches” and tells a story.

Photographer’s Day is dedicated to people who are able to capture and convey the beauty of the surrounding reality with the help of a few shots. Let’s find out when it will be celebrated in 2022.

When is Photographer’s Day celebrated in Our Country and the world in 2022

Photographer’s Day 2022 will be celebrated July 12. The holiday is annual and the date is fixed. There are several explanations for why Photographer’s Day takes place on this day. The most popular and widespread version: July 12 is also the Day of Saint Veronica, the patroness of photographers and photography.

Saint Veronica is one of the Christian saints. According to legend, this woman followed Jesus as he walked to Golgotha and bent under the weight of his cross. In the process of rising, Veronica ran up to Jesus, gave him water to drink and gave him her plat (a piece of cloth) so that the martyr could wipe the sweat from his face. Upon returning home, Veronica found the image of Jesus imprinted on the fabric.

According to the second version, the date was chosen in honor of the birthday of George Eastman, the man who made photography accessible to most of us. He was the founder of Kodak.

History

The history of the holiday itself is inextricably linked with the process of invention and improvement of the process of photographing.

It is difficult to say exactly when the first dreams and ideas to capture the moment appeared. The prototype of modern cameras can be considered a camera obscura. This is the simplest device that allows you to get an optical image of an object. This is by no means a camera in our understanding. A camera obscura is a dark room or box with a small hole on one wall and frosted glass or white paper on the other. Light passing through the hole creates an inverted image on the other side. Based on this principle, some cameras have been created.

We can consider Joseph Niépce to be the father of photography. In the early 20s, his thoughts were focused on the idea of obtaining a fixed image by mechanical means. In 1826, he managed to get the first photo, which is called “View from the Window”. It took 8 hours of continuous shooting to create this image. The photo came out blurry, but it turned out, and you can see the general view.

Over time, the process of creating photographs has improved. The next milestone can be considered the experiments of another Frenchman – Louis Daguerre. A little later, in 1837, he was able to take a photograph on a metal plate, and fixed the image with table salt. These were also not quite photographs in our understanding, such pictures were called “daguerreotype”. The first work of Louis Daguerre presented to the public was the image “View of the Boulevard du Temple”, 1838.

Another important person in the history of photography is William Henry Fox Talbot. It was thanks to his experiments that we got the opportunity not only to take photos, but also to replicate them. Talbot devised a way to get a positive image from which you could get as many copies as you wanted.

The next step, which brought the process of creating photographs closer to the modern look, was taken in the 1850s by several independent researchers: the Englishmen Frederick Scott Archer and Robert Bingham, as well as the Frenchman Gustave Legré. Their discoveries helped to take photos faster, the time to take pictures was significantly reduced.

From that moment on, photography began to spread massively around the world and already in 1881 the Kodak company was opened, thanks to which cameras soon came to almost every home in dozens of countries around the world.

Holiday traditions

In Our Country, this holiday is not official, while in other countries it is widely celebrated. As a rule, no mass festivities are provided, but various exhibitions, master classes, lectures and competitions are held. In the United States, such events are funded from the state budget.

In our country, professionals celebrate this holiday in a narrow circle of like-minded people. We also have an international festival “Photographer’s Day”, where its participants conduct master classes on shooting and at the end the “Photographer of the Year” award is awarded.

Photography is an art that is not just entertaining or pleasurable. Photography helps to capture the most important moments of our personal lives and important world events. The profession of a photographer is not always easy and pleasant, it is not even always safe. Support and congratulate familiar photographers on their professional holiday.
