The Phoenix cucumber was bred back in the 80s of the last century. The variety got its name due to its complete immunity to powdery mildew. Today there are two varieties of “Phoenix”: 640 and Plus. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

The culture belongs to the late ripening ones. On average, 55-65 days pass from the moment of planting to the ripening of the first fruits. The fruiting period is quite long, and the bushes produce crops almost until frost. It is recommended to grow cucumbers outdoors. They take root well in the Central Black Earth, Lower Volga, North Caucasian region.

Cucumber “Phoenix” has a high yield and resistance to diseases

Fruits of a medium-sized variety, up to 16 cm long and weighing 150–190 g. The peel is dense, dark green, covered with pimples. The pulp is juicy and very tasty. But if you allow the overgrowth of the fruit, then a slight bitterness may appear in the tails.

It is a high-yielding variety. With constant care from 1 sq. m you can collect up to 5 kg of fruit. Scourge culture is powerful and viable, can reach three meters in length. Therefore, it is better to grow the plant on a trellis. The fruits are versatile and suitable for fresh consumption and processing. The keeping quality of cucumbers is high, they remain fresh for up to 15 days. The variety tolerates temperature extremes, drought and heat well and never suffers from diseases inherent in this species.

Description of the variety of cucumbers “Phoenix Plus”

The crop was sectioned in 2005 and is intended for outdoor cultivation. The variety is early ripe, and from the moment of planting to ripening of the fruits, on average, it takes about 45-55 days. The bushes of the plant are medium-sized, branched, with a mixed type of flowering.

The variety is considered one of the most productive. When performing all agrotechnical measures, you can collect up to 6-7 kg from 1 sq. m. Although the variety is officially classified as salad, many farmers pickle and salt it. Cucumbers tolerate transportation well and remain fresh for up to 15 days.

It is not for nothing that the “Phoenix” varieties are very popular among gardeners. These crops require not so much attention to themselves in order to get a good harvest, it is enough to follow the general rules for growing cucumbers. At the same time, crops never get sick, which means that they do not need to be treated with chemicals, which makes the products environmentally friendly.
