Pet cemetery: Russians will be fined for the funeral of cats and dogs
The experts explained the details of the situation.
The death of a beloved pet is a real tragedy. Many people bury the animal’s body in their yard or nearby forest, where they can visit the deceased. However, experts believe that this is wrong. Soon, Russians who, after the death of a pet, did not apply to the relevant services, can expect a monetary fine.
The other day, experts reminded the residents of our country about the procedure for dealing with dead animals. According to lawyer Anna Poilova, it is strictly forbidden to bury the deceased pets in the courtyards of residential buildings or on the adjacent territory of their own plot, if we are talking about private property.
Such an initiative is regarded by human rights activists as a violation of veterinary and sanitary rules for the collection, disposal and destruction of biological waste. Anyone who has done this will be forced to pay a fine, the amount of which will vary from 4 to 10 thousand rubles.
The correct procedure for burying an animal is to decontaminate its body and then cremate it. After which the owner can receive the ashes of his pet. In this case, any animals, regardless of size, are cremated, be it a hamster or a cat. In some cases, the pet can be given the ground, but only in specially designated places.
Many animals die from infectious diseases, and burying them can cause soil contamination. In addition, rodents can dig up a burial site, which will also lead to the spread of infection. It is forbidden to throw the pet’s body into a garbage container, into water bodies. Cremation services are provided by veterinarians, after the procedure, the ashes are transferred to the owner of the animal, – quoted by Poilova «РИА Новости».
