PSYchology

The personal unconscious — the surface layer of the psyche — contains the personal contents of the individual, belonging directly to the individual himself, which can (and often does) make them conscious, and therefore integrated into consciousness, into the Ego. This includes former contents of consciousness, weakly energized perceptions that do not reach the threshold of consciousness, or sub-threshold impressions, various combinations of weak and vague ideas that do not come into contact with the conscious attitude. In general, it is characteristic of this level of the unconscious that its contents, realized in consciousness, are experienced as belonging to the Ego, one’s own Self.
