Another proof that everything is good in moderation!
“I will never fall for any marketing gimmicks again!” – this is how the story of the 40-year-old heroine began, who decided to drink tea for weight loss and was disappointed in such a way to become more slender!
“I have tried many diets in my 40 years: from low protein to keto, where almost everything is allowed! Some ways to lose weight gave their results, others made me regret that I decided on such experiments … In any case, all of us, women, want to be beautiful and attractive, and sometimes even at any cost. Especially when you’re over 40. I know it’s bad! And that weight loss is not always a good thing. But grueling workouts are not for me! I bought a subscription for a year of classes, but in fact I went to the gym three times. I can’t motivate myself for sports. And then a friend just turned up who sang about a miracle tea for weight loss, and an easy way to get rid of the hated pounds on the hips and stomach bribed me, because you must agree: drinking tea and losing weight at the same time is the dream of every woman!
In addition to the idea of easy weight loss, I was bribed by the composition: natural herbal ingredients, no chemicals, stabilizers and dyes, no allergic substances … You can even improve the body on this, I thought, reading the composition and instructions! It said that tea would help regulate the metabolism in the body, normalize digestion, help control appetite, reduce cravings for sweets, make up for the lack of vitamin B and C, remove toxins and toxins, and improve the condition of the skin, hair and nails. The rules for taking were simple: 2-3 cups of tea a day (200 ml each), use only freshly brewed tea, share with the main meals, that is, drink separately from food.
First week of admission
The feeling of lightness did not leave me. My tummy disappeared, it stopped swelling after eating, the amount of food servings became much smaller: I really didn’t want to eat all the time! There was a laxative effect, after the very first application I felt how my gastrointestinal tract was working, apparently, the new product had such an effect on the body. In the wake of joy, I became more positive, more energetic, I managed to do more things in a day and felt more confident. Then I realized that it was only on the wave of euphoria from the first results, in fact, tea, on the contrary, had a sedative effect.
Two weeks after starting tea intake
Tea continued to delight. I became easier to fit into the jeans that I was wearing, the scales also showed the first results. Although I understood that the effect of this tea was built on a diuretic and laxative effect, I continued to drink it, and even instead of 2-3 cups a day I drank 4-5. A little later, I began to constantly run to the toilet, and I was pretty tired of it. I even got up at night, although this had never happened before drinking tea. Yes, and the laxative effect also brought me discomfort and many inconveniences.
After a month of taking tea
I am hypotonic, my normal blood pressure is low. After a month of taking tea, I was completely dull: lethargy, drowsiness, my heart seemed not to beat at all (sometimes it seemed like that!). The drink lowered the already low blood pressure, and its sedative effect was already finally finishing me off: I always wanted to sleep, I had a headache, I did not have time to do the plans at work that I had previously performed with ease and on time. The stomach began to twist, spasmodic pains appeared. Now I took no-shpu not only during these days.
My results and conclusions
As such, tea itself does not fundamentally solve the problem of excess weight. All these slogans, loud slogans on beautiful packs, images of beautiful slender girls on booklets are nothing more than a publicity stunt in tandem with psychology. What does the latter have to do with it? It’s simple: the recommendations for use say that a more lasting effect can be achieved if you change your diet, get rid of the habit of eating at night, do not eat fatty, junk food, such as fast food and fried, salty, sweet and starchy foods … It is also recommended to supplement the techniques tea by physical activity. Do you understand what I mean? I could have lost these 3-5 kg even without tea if I hadn’t eaten junk food and played sports. And the first time when you drink tea, naturally, purely psychologically, you attribute all the positive changes to him, and not to the fact that you changed your diet to a more correct and healthy one. This is about psychology.
But as for my well-being, then everything is not so rosy. I confess, of course, I am also well done that I drank more tea than was supposed to! Perhaps the effect would have been different if I had followed the dosage regimen. But all the things that tea promised to get rid of, I got! The cheerfulness was gone, instead of it there appeared apathy, drowsiness and lethargy. The pressure dropped, constipation and headache became frequent. Plus, with my gastritis, I generally needed to first consult with a doctor before using tea. Because it causes an increased secretion of gastric juice, which is not necessary for me and my gastritis at all!
At the next visit to the gastroenterologist, I shared my story about taking tea for weight loss, to which I received an answer in the form of a detailed lecture. The doctor said that the effect of such products is achieved due to a laxative and diuretic effect, and the results of taking tea are instantaneous. That is, if I lost 3 kg, then the effect will end there. I will not lose any more weight, but the body is doing great harm. Thanks to the diuretic action, useful substances and trace elements necessary for the normal functioning of the body are washed out. Cardiac arrhythmia may appear. The laxative effect of the drug dehydrates the body, disrupts the water-salt balance, and irritates the intestinal mucosa. By the way, I would like to tell separately about the skin, nails and hair. Their transformation was promised, but in fact, the hair became more brittle and split. I don’t know if it’s connected with tea or not, but the fact is.
This stage became an experience for me and a lesson for the future. Once again I was convinced that everything is good in moderation, that you need to strictly follow the dosage of any drug, even tea with natural herbs, and that you always need to consult a doctor before using something new. “
– The main danger in using tea for weight loss is that they contain laxatives and diuretics, and long-term use can lead to a variety of unpleasant consequences. Due to the lost fluid, dehydration of the body occurs, and the electrolyte balance is disturbed. Of course, in the early days, kilograms can go on the scales due to the lost fluid, but they return very quickly.
Together with toxins and toxins that are removed, as written in the annotations on any tea for weight loss, we also lose microelements that are very important for the microorganism. And long-term use of diuretics primarily leads to a decrease in the level of potassium in the blood. And this threatens not only with the manifestation of muscle weakness, but also with impaired renal function. The second effect of this tea is a laxative. And the constant loosening of the stool can lead to a disease such as irritable bowel syndrome. Because permanently unformed stools will certainly cause inflammation of the colon lining. In addition, people who begin to constantly take teas for weight loss and do not observe either physical activity or food ration in terms of calorie content and nutritional balance, become addicted – both psychological and physical. They start thinking something like this: I’ll drink tea, I’m fine and I’ll lose weight; but all this has a temporary effect. How much they lost, the same amount will be added, and more, as a rule, plus two kilograms. Therefore, when choosing any tea for weight loss, you should definitely consult a dietitian. Because these teas contain senna leaves and buckthorn bark, and these are quite strong irritants for the mucous membrane of the large intestine. If a person has constipation, then their use is somehow justified. And a person who does not suffer from constipation is not justified and will lead to the fact that this will cause irritable bowel syndrome.
When a person begins to use such teas, you need to know that any tea for weight loss has its own contraindications. This is, of course, an exacerbation of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (gastritis, peptic ulcer and others). In addition, exacerbation of urolithiasis or simply the presence of intra-stone disease, this is pregnancy and feeding – weakening of the body after some diseases, since all teas for weight loss lead to the loss of essential trace elements. Also, any tea for weight loss includes herbs that are allergens. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully read the composition and instructions, and also before taking it, be sure to consult with an allergist.
