Persistent runny nose

What to do about a runny nose that has lasted for nearly a year?

I cannot cope with the persistent runny nose. I have had it for a year and no drops or antibiotics help. The discharge is clear, watery, and flying almost all the time. What could help me? ~ junior

I do not know if you have consulted your problem with an ENT specialist. If not, please do so as soon as possible. Long-term treatment on your own will not only not help, but even hurt – chronic use of nasal drops can lead to vasoconstriction of the mucosa, its ischemia and atrophy. All the more so, please do not use antibiotics on your own – especially since the transparent discharge does not indicate a bacterial infection. I would rather suspect the allergic background of the ailments. Therefore, before visiting the ENT doctor, please consider whether the runny nose occurs all the time or only under certain circumstances, e.g. at work, on a busy street, etc.
