“A child is born into a world where there is everything: cruelty, joy, sadness, beautiful and ugly, and it would be strange to pretend that children exist outside of this world,” says Pernilla Stalfelt, Swedish writer, artist and educator, member of the Swedish Academy children’s book. She came up with (and drew) several picture books about very complex and very important things that every child experiences (and often remains alone with them): about sadness, about death, about tolerance … «One field of berries» — the first book -ga of the series, tells that all people are different — both externally and in character, but each of us is familiar with feelings of resentment and pain, anger and fear. And each person deserves respect and understanding from the other. In Sweden, this book has become a textbook on tolerance for elementary schools.
