With the assistance of Tatiana Butskaya, who is also the head of the expert and educational center for helping future and successful parents “Parents’ Choice”, a vote was arranged for the best maternity hospital in Moscow. The work on the rating lasted a whole year, and more than 5 thousand women who became mothers from 2017 to the beginning of 2019 took part in the polls.
Many factors were taken into account: is anyone allowed to give birth except the official spouse, is there any feedback from the administration of the maternity hospital. In addition, it is important for a woman in labor to understand what is happening, why her childbirth is going on like this, why certain manipulations are needed.
According to the compilers of the rating, maternity hospitals should listen to the wishes of women, allow free behavior during childbirth, anesthetize contractions, show a benevolent attitude towards the relatives of the woman in labor, not interfere with partner childbirth and family meetings in a medical facility, and help establish breastfeeding.
“By the way, the maternity hospitals, where the father can be present at all stages of the birth of the heir – from the delivery room to the postpartum ward, received the highest points for supporting family values,” says Tatyana Butskaya and hopes that compiling such ratings will affect the quality of the work of maternity hospitals, and on the attitude towards patients.
