  • Gender: Autism seems to affect patients more frequently garçons than girls (4 boys for 1 girl).
  • People with parents or brothers and sisters already achieved3.
  • People with other developmental disorders, such as Fragile X syndrome or Down syndrome4.

 

Risk factors

To date, no risk factor related to autism has been scientifically established.

 

Prevention

There is no way to prevent the onset of autism or PDD.

Measures to prevent the consequences of autism

Treatments, when started at a young age, can improve children’s language and social skills. However, different treatments are sometimes necessary before determining which combination of therapy is most appropriate for each child.
