People at risk
- People with herpes simplex virus type 1 (the majority of adults);
- People with an immune deficiency are more prone to frequent recurrences and to prolonged herpes outbreaks. These include people who are infected with HIV / AIDS, or who are undergoing treatment for cancer or an autoimmune disease (immunosuppressive therapy).
Risk factors
Once the virus has been contracted, various factors contribute to recurrence of symptoms :
- Anxiety, stress and fatigue;
- A temperature rise, following a fever or sun exposure;
- benefits dry lips ;
- Flu, cold or other infectious disease;
- benefits local trauma (dental treatment, cosmetic treatment to the face, a cut, a crack);
- In women, menstruation;
- A bad nutrition ;
- Taking cortisone.
