- Polymyositis and dermatomyositis are more common in women (2 women for 1 man) and usually starts between the ages of 40 and 60, but it can occur at any age.
- Dermatomyositis is more common in children than in adults.
- Inclusion myositis more often affects men than women, usually affecting adults aged 50 and over.

It is not possible to prevent the onset of inflammatory myopathies. Measures to prevent aggravation In people with dermatomyositis, areas affected by rashes are more sensitive to the sun. As a precaution, wear protective clothing or sunscreen with a high level of protection when going outdoors. |
